HF Habs: 2024 NHL Draft Thread

Has anyone watched that series?

I'm hoping and praying that our draft position makes it a clear no brainer consensus pick.

I don't get how people don't see this guy is potentially his dad.
Listed as 6' and 186 lbs at 17 years old he just might grow that one inch his father has on him.
As far as NHL playing weight goes there is absolutely nothing to worry about the Kid will fill out.
I mean how can we not be impressed with someone his age being named MVP to his WHL club.
Somehow I doubt Tij Iginla has mastered all the attributes he will end up possessing before he graduates.

I bet our management is just itching for a reason to pick Iginla over everyone else. Lindstrom with his back issues, and Demidov likely off the board by our pick, means Iginla is going to be our guy. I truly believe this. I don't see them picking Catton over him.

Where does the overall dislike, disrespectful, in some cases hateful attitude towards Finns come from? Habs fans seem to love targeting Finnish people in any way they can and there is a noticeable trend of negativity/hate in the past 4-5 towards Finns from them. Would be nice to know what exactly is wrong with the Finnish nationality, though whenever I see a person bring this up, they get attacked too. Seems bizarre how every single Finnish prospect and even NHL player gets hate and disrespect

People are just Stupid if they don't view the Finnish Program one of the very best in the world.
Particularly once you factor in the population ratio or selection pool.

Yeah, the draft is deep with defensemen in the top-10. If we drop back to the 8th-9th overall pick and there is a run on forwards early, a D might drop that we just can't pass on.

We passed on a Tkachuk for a nothing just 6 years ago. Let's hope we don't make the same mistake again.

Yeah it's interesting - and cool. Though I do remember them interviewing Benson a lot last year, too.

I'm good with any option - Helenius is my least favorite of the names that floats around the top 10 and the absolute last thing I would welcome is trading it for Zegras.

Availability and Scrutiny. Nothing there I'd be aghast if they didn't have him on their radar.

The more I see and read on Iginla the more he is growing on me. I also think he checks off a lot of boxes for the way Hughes is building this team, he goes to the dirty areas, he's a good skater, he's a character player, he's versatile and can play in all situations.

Plus, he's on the younger side for this draft and doesn't turn 18 until August which makes what he's doing this year that much more impressive.
