They haven't done anything yet.. I can see them getting enamored with the 6'7 russian defender Silayev.
Assuming the habs pick 6, they should have one or the second tier forwards available to them. Somebody is bound to go after silayev or Dickinson top 5 along with levshunov.

Seriously speaking, with the second pick, I would do anything I could to get Iginla. Yea we would have to give up assets but I love love iginla at 10-15.

I need to watch Lindstrom carefully and analyze him well in the next few games.

The thing with big guys like that is that they are dominant in Juniors cause they are bigger than everyone else but could have average NHL career if they have some IQ issue.

It's exactly the case with Josh Anderson.

Big , fast strong very good shot but not smart at all.

Lindstrom' goal on his rush the other day was a Anderson special...same.but as a lefty.

It works sometimes.in the NHl but after a few years.,.the NHL defencemen will time you if you are one dimentional on zone entrance and the play will die in the corner.

As.I Said I have Catton way in front of Lindstrom but I want to put my.eyes on Lindstrom a lot more in the next few days.

The issue with Anderson is that he never even dominated juniors, but yes, the IQ is clearly not there even though all the physical tools you'd want in a hockey player are. I don't think I would but him and Lindstrom in the same category at all.

Anderson is a perimeter player, he doesn’t like attacking the middle, he doesn’t like board battles, he is not a consistent big hitter and his passing and vision are non existent, he has blinders on. People get enamoured by the big guy that can skate fast and that’s about all Anderson can do.

Cayden lindstrom is nothing like that, nothing. Plus he is a center. He is a beast.

Lindtsrom is nice but I have little doubt Iggy is gonna be the best player of the two. Cayden will always be a unicorn though.
To quote wethreekings, if we find a way to get lindstrom and Iginla from this draft I would eat my hat. We have the asssets it’s about finding the right fit in terms of trade partner.

Anderson was taken in the 4th round for good reasons. Lindstrom is a 1st round hopeful. Quite the gap in tools and toolbox displayed in their respective draft year.

You are right about that but look at Byfield.

He has needed an adaptation and its his first good year this season at 21 years old and he was better than Lindstrom in Juniors. He was stronger and bigger than everyone in the Juniors

My point is that it's gonna be a process with Lindstrom and we should not put him in our top 6 right off the bat next season.

In fact, only Celebrini will be in the Nhl top 6 next season.

A guy like Catton in 2 years could have an impact faster than Lindstrom as well.

Down the road,.Lindstrom could have.more impact than Catton but I am not convince

It is the beauty of scouting and having those conversations cause it is hard to make a clear projection

When was the last time we had 3 forwards of Lidstrom size in our lineup (Lidstrom, Slafkowski and Dach.. not counting Anderson and Armia. I do not remember to be honest...

Lidstrom will easily be one or two years away from starting in the NHL. But the team is also one or two years away for competing for a playoff spot so I do not see the issue here. It would be great to win the lottery but I am definitly not holding my breath on that one.

That's literally the only thing that scares me. Those back issues can be debilitating and can really affect a players career.
Yep and it happened some time to time with big tall guys. Mario is the prime example.

It appear that it's just not rumors at this point but the kid deal with it...scary

Also, I read that there is some rumors about Lindstrom's permanent back pain issues.
This is why there his a competent medical staff to decouple rumors from reality. Just have faith in the team in place. They will make the right choice. If its not Lidstrom it will be someone else that will contribute to this team because for once in the past 20years there seems to be a vision on the type of team we are building.

So we can call him a big fat liar?
Well ...

Originally, when he was injured they said "day to day". Then they said oh he needs surgery and 4-6 weeks, he'll be back mid february.

Then they went on complete radio silence, like 0 updates from the team. And he returned for game 1 of the playoffs. The team has not explained at all, as far as I know, why the extra 6-8 weeks recovery. They haven't even said that there were complications lol

Pronman is connected - he hears the chatter.
He says in the clip that Lindstrom wouldn't be back until WHL playoffs, which is exactly what happened.
His back must've been a concern to some people. Maybe it was overblown.

Or maybe he's just passing his own speculation as gospel, and he's a big fat liar. :naughty:
