Dream draft -> Lindstrom or Demidov with our own 1st, would also be okay with Catton personally.

Then we move up with WPG pick and can snag one of Iginla, MBN or another strong forward that may fall.

That's the lowest I've seen Lindstrom in a while.

This feels just like last draft where there was a clear cut top 4(excluding Michkov) and we're going to be picking right after the big names are gone and there's little consensus on BPA.
But the consensus top 4 is Celebrini and Ds while the Habs would prefer a forward, so it works for them this year.

And there is never any consensus outside the top 3-4, too much difference in type of players (no just positions) and scouts all have their bias.

We'll be in a position to get Iginla or Catton, if we miss out on Celebrini/Lidstrom/Demidov. We can walk away with a good forward if we really want to go with position of need, that's not an issue IMO. I worry more that we might pass on an all around better talent because we're deadset on getting a forward, but I get the defensemen fatigue folks might have.

He's a big center

No matter what we see in these Rankings, multiple teams will have him spotted between 2 and 4 unless his game absolutely collapses at his return

What do you guys think of Trent Swick ?
Could he be a good pick at the third round ?
6,7 , 220pounds
55gp for 58 points

Would Lindstrom be in the same tier as Carlsson and Fantilli? I haven't watched him at all but from what I'm reading he's much more raw and considering his unfortunate injury I feel teams might shy away from picking him in the top 3-5.

Tier below Carlsson, probably similar to Fantilli in a sense. Both athletic guys where the question is how smart are they on the ice.

I think Zegras is much more talented, but Zegras doesn't have it in his lil' brain-rotted head that he can be who he can be, thus he sucks. Perimeter player at best, Im sure he'll have other 60+ points seasons, he's just not gonna be useful doing it. Catton can be that + more and have an actual impact.
He's probably a top-10 player based on talent alone... it's a shame, really. I feel like if Catton can play like a Barzal/Point, he'll be much, much more impactful than Zegras.

Again my grand Mother could have been a scout if the only thing to looking at is that the player must be 6.0 and 200 pounds.

Bs.

Half of the best players in NHL history were less than 6.0 or less than 200 pounds.

Rocket
Dionne
Gretzky
Yzerman
Sakic
Crosby
Kane
Bedard
St louis

They were not bad in the playoffs either....

...and some of the most injury prone players were more than 6.0 like Lemieux, Lindros etc..

We are in 2024 for godsake...I dont care at all if the player is 5.10 or 6.2

Bring me 5 or 6 talented players sub 6.0 in our top 9 any day or the week.
… and don’t forget who won the Conn Smythe last season. ;)
