Not to nitpick but Hoffman was never a top 10 goal scorer and didn't bring much beyond a shot. I agree you shouldn't necessarily expect more from that with a top 10 pick, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't aim a bit higher than that. I'd struggle to find justification for picking him ahead of guys like Celebrini (duh), Demidov, Lindstrom, or Catton, and that's just for forwards. I'd even hesitate once it got to guys like Helenius and Iginla (Probably take him over Helenius but not Iginla).A "prime" Mike Hoffman, which is a top 10 goalscorer in the NHL /Injuries and poor longevity is 100% worth a top 10 pick, and even more. Thats a misconception around the draft, the 10th best player is very rarely a 30g+ scorer for (Assuming no injuries and poor longevity) 5-6-7 years.
1.35 to 1.5 is also an improvement, not sure how were spinning this as stagnating, but I don't expect anything better from the guy pushing the Eiserman smear campaign, to be fair. The same was done last year with Michkov.
Going from .3 A's to .65 A's is also a pretty big step but could be scratched to natural variation. He's on pace to be 7 goals off Caufields record, we gotta chill with the fake news, really.
Not saying he hasn't improved at all, just his all-around game hasn't grown much and he doesn't seem very involved when I watch him. His upside is definitely in that top tier, but he's a guy you'd need to really grill in the interview to figure out where his head's at and if he knows what he needs to work on.

It's always a shame when two guys from the same range would be such a perfect fit together (Demidov and Lindstrom). God I'd love another top 10 pick to somehow grab them both.
