Imagine having Parekh and Hutson on the same pp. Lmao!

I don't mind the Habs taking a flyer if they get a second first round pick, but I have serious concerns about him translating to the NHL and earning the trust of NHL coaches. Terrific vision in the offensive zone, questionable defensive ability at this stage, and not a good enough skater to fill the holes in his game. So many flaws.

I love Parekh. I've been high on him for a long time but I'd be shocked, with Mailloux in the system, that they'd use a top 10 on Parekh

BPA... always! The team in 3-4 years will be very different than the one we currently see. Mailloux might have been used as a trade asset.

In 2005, the team picked Carey Price despite us having Theodore as the #1, young stud Jaroslav Halak in the pipeline.
Going by needs, we should have picked Gilbert Brule instead.

That and they have 2, highly touted,.offensive defenseman with questions about their defensive game, I doubt they want a 3rd.

Gotta imagine the Habs are just looking at forward.

Anybody watch the BCHL ?

He's committed to Boston College for the 25-26 season. Points wise it's not jumping, but he's got that NHL size at 6'4 and listed as a centre.

Might be a good late round option ?

I’d actually be surprised if the Habs brass don’t zone in on MBN. He just seems to have the profile of the type of player that they covet (big, defensively mature, plays hard) and fits perfectly in the top 6 forwards of the future. You pass on Ryan Leonard to take his Norwegian counterpart the year after.

You know they'd like him, the question is do they like him enough to take him over one of the more offensively skilled players who will no doubt be on the board for them

And I hope the answer is no lol. Don’t get me wrong I like MBN but not before Celebrini, Demidov , Lindstrom , catton. Iftheyike him get another top 15 pick!

The only one on that list I could see them passing on for MBN is Catton. Seems the scouting circles are lower on him than we are.

If they picked MBN over Catton I swear to god I'd burn down the f***ing Bell Centre. I think Catton is arguably the third best forward in the draft behind Celebrini and Demidov.

There's also 5 Dmen I'd 100% pick over MBN.

No need to debate MBN//Catton

We are in the Silayev/Levshunov/Dickinson/Lindstrom/Demidov spot ^_^

Catton ainec tho imo.

If we trade Monahan for a late 1st, i think we have the draft capital to move up and for a MBN//Greentree//Chernyshov later in the draft than with our top 10 pick.

Yeah this board definitely has a good track record of identifying powerforwards and for sure don't skew towards small skilled players. I will for sure trust your judgment!
I don't know if this board loves smaller players more than bigger ones, I think most people in this thread just don't watch hockey at all most of the time, lol.

I don't have a bias either way, actually I probably have one for big boys myself, lol.

They drafted Beck, Hutson and Mesar
All the more reason why they won't draft another small player. Plus those weren't top 10 picks.

This managment team actually has a brain and will use high draft resources on size skill combo. It's why they chose Slaf over Cooley. And RB over Michkov. They are yelling it from the rooftops. Unless there is elite tools like Bedard, they are taking the best combo of skill and size.

If they have such bias, they shouldn't be at the helm of a profesional team.
