Dekidiv= best puck-hamdlerbin the draft..One scout I heard said he rates him a 10 in puck-handling and he never have anyone a perfectc10/10 i tgat category beforehand alk tye years he has been scouting..so Demidov's skill in that depth. Is almost beyond elite..
However :
1.He has not proven anything agaibst men (yet) ..only in the MJL..still comparing to other draft eligible Russians taken fron the NHL his 2.0 ppg is spectacular..
2.He pkays in a wider bigger euro rink.. thereisctgatvussue..can he still dangle in more confined quarters?
3.Unlike other "offense only "small forwards(P.Kane etc) he actually is committed to a hard work ethic in checking with enthusiasm...too small to ever be "physicsl" but at least willing and not a la,y :cheater" 1 eY guy...so at least there is that good aspect to his game.
4.Like any smaller guy the risk is that junior performance may disappear when confronted with bigger more physical pros banging on them..And so there Always is that worry.
But Beddar dis small...has not stopped his offense But that offense can be limited by not beibg able to get pucks back and get out of own zone because bigger more defensive teans hem in the smaller weaker forwards in their own zone...winiing both battles and posession jostles to gain and re-gain control of the puck.
Sobevthibgs smaller guys just cannot do.
The concern is balance...cannot have too many small guys in top 6 forwards Should have some balance to get more strength to wi puck battles
Thus Bedard +Lardis or Bedard +Nazar on see line may simply get out-muscled and hemmed in own zone ..only offebse coming from occasional 2 ones in transition..but NOT from sustained pressure in o-zobe because they get hemmed in in d-zobe..chase and do not win pucks back.
They need a Hossa to do that ..get those pucks back and then help clear space for them in o-zobe once they get in
You cannot be all smallish skill guys.
That us why Denidov may be wong fot considering smaller forwards Hawks already have coming g .
Combination of evaluating the high end ceiling but not losing sight of the floor and still just scouting based on how players perform in game rather than fawning over toolsy guys who can't play.Something about great minds TLEH. No idea what it has to do with us but I find myself agreeing with you on prospects a lot.
I base my opinions on others who have seen the guys play.So many people I feel have strong opinions on guys they just don't know. Like I'm not a pro scout. I like who I like. That's hard for people to admit for some reason.
Basing it on others is a bad look.I base my opinions on others who have seen the guys play.
I really don't have time to watch these guys myself.Basing it on others is a bad look.
Then don't present it as fact. I've never given a prospect ranking for a reason.I really don't have time to watch these guys myself.
So I read a lot of scouting reports and used to read Wheeler/Pronman/Peters and base my opinions off theirs.
Legit lol'd.Combination of evaluating the high end ceiling but not losing sight of the floor and still just scouting based on how players perform in game rather than fawning over toolsy guys who can't play.
It's gonna be a very fun draft for certain.I can't wait for this years draft to be honest. Such an odd class.

Were going to see some truly off the board stuff. I think Iginla will end up in Calgary just like his dad. Bill Armstrong is taking Silayev. It is a truly bizarre draft class
I've never really subscribed to the sentiment that the draft is one big crapshoot... but I do kind of feel that way about this year's draft
He feels so safe. If we're going safe take Catton. Were going to see some truly off the board stuff. I think Iginla will end up in Calgary just like his dad. Bill Armstrong is taking Silayev.
Honestly if we do select 2 I think they look at our current group and take Lindstrom. I won't hate it but it won't feel like BPA to me.
I tend to agree on Lindstrom. But our forward prospect group is talented but rather small. The only guys with size we have in our pool are Dach, Misiak and Hayes, whose ceilings are probably limited. So I could see them trying to diversify. Were going to see some truly off the board stuff. I think Iginla will end up in Calgary just like his dad. Bill Armstrong is taking Silayev.

Sure, but you’re likely not getting a Kane level talent if you don’t win the draft.Taking need with a top five pick is gross. No team has too many Kane's.
It's possible he doesn't even make it to Calgary. He just keeps getting better and he's been a boon in the playoffs so far.I think Iginla will end up in Calgary just like his dad.
I don't see how Catton is safe.If we're going safe take Catton.
The obsession with speed is the only thing we know for sure because KD has stated something along the lines of "If you can't skate, you can't be a Blackhawk".I'm trying to look at what we've taken in the past and what this organization seems to like.
The thing with Eiserman is age. I don't really like the player he is now, but he has that "maybe" factor like you're alluding to.Eiserman is going to a fantastic college program to develop his all around game. I'm pretty high on him as I've let it be known but that's if the Hawks drop to 4 (I'd entertain it). Give him 2 years and I won't be surprised if he's one of the best prospects coming.
