Per the words of Grant Mckegg, "This drafts top 15 is shaping up to be one of the best of all time"

To be a little more specific, he mentions the amazing dynamism of Demidov offensively. He covets Lindstrom and Silayev in his ranks already. He mentions Yakemchuks size combined with his elite offensive abilities. He's a huge fan of Tij Iginla and thinks he could be a top line winger. He mentioned Helenius is a #1 center in Liiga already. Cole Eisermans goal scoring prowess.

Tons of talent in that top 15 group

I look at his pre-draft player takes seriously. I agree with 2/3 of them. He was really high on Gulyayev, Dvorsky, Leonard, But, and Fantilli (way more than most) last year. He still had Bedard #1 OA, so that means he was even a bigger fan. He does make some odd claims for Habs prospects being more than they are, but thats homerism.

Man when I watch Levshunov I just really don't see it. He's just so f***ing casual. Seen him quite a bit now. Idk man. Maybe I'm just missing something.
I have to agree. His play is very inconsistent. I still prefer Dickinson, Yakemchuk and Silayev over him.

Zaybe Parekh was not in the Saginaw lineup last night and tonight ...not due to injury..but serving a 2 game suspension...

Macklin Celebrini scored a goal late in 3rd poeriod tomight in BU's 2nd game of a back to back set of losses to Boston College..

So he got only 1g 0a and was -3 for these 2 games...BUT he generated 12 shots on goal in these 2 games ...In the game tonight he had I think I saw 20 shots attempted but only 7 were on goal ..Tonight was 12/15 on draws ...I cannot remeber if he was one of the 3 BU shooters who hit the post in the Friday night game..

So I think his play was very good in hese games even if his scoring output and+/- did not reflect that...

McKegg is a hack. Dude literally said Celebrini was a better prospect coming out than Bedard. I take what he says with a high grain of salt and this is coming from someone who agrees with him on Yakemchuk.
Shiny new toy syndrome

No more draft picks. Should be flipping the picks we have for better picks or finding Patrick Sharp.

Speaking of Sharp. I find it slightly annoying for some reason that he’s playing Flyers alumni games and went “home” to the Flyers Org. Love Sharp he’s ours not theirs. They had him buried in Lehigh Valey. He isn’t a Flyers alumni.
You don’t trade picks this early into a rebuild unless you want to be the 2018 -2020 senators

The Hawks wanted to draft him as early as 10 from what I heard. And my god, if the Hawks had moved down to 5th oa and wanted him there, that would've been a nightmare. I've never been a fan of the pick and some people were either really high on him or very low. I had Perreault, Edstrom, Gulyayev, and Nadeau comfortably ahead of him. We'll see how he progresses, but he projects more of a bottom 6 guy as a 1st round pick.
making up scenarios in your head to be mad about

Hawks trading out of Bedard to pick Moore at #5 is so obscenely dumb not even Peter Chiarelli would do that move lol

This year's top 5 is pretty special in a variety of ways, the Hawks will be in good shape:

Celebrini
Levshunov
Silayev
Lindstrom
Demidov

I would take any of those guys. Silayev is going to be a stud, but it seems like the Hawks are pretty full on the left side?

For the TB Pick:

Connelly
Yakemchuk
Iginla
Boisvert

Silayev has played about as much on the right as the left this year. Still prefer a right shot on the right side, but he's supposedly been really solid on his offside.

How much offensive upside does he have? He has like 1 assist in his last 20 games (albeit playing a pretty low number of minutes).
Up for debate with people. He's got good hands and a good wrister from the point. He can skate and does jump into the play as the 4th guy but its not like dynamic offensively. KHL as a defender at 17 pretty hard to truly know the upside offensively though.

He could be Hedman or he could be Oleksiak.

I like Basha for TB pick

Like Greentree.Celebrini/Lindstrom plus Greentree would start to fill out our forwards and give Bedard some help.Good size as well.

I agree with this. The fact that he is playing D in the KHL at age 17 is pretty amazing. Playing his offside that much at that high of a level is impressive. As far as offense goes, it would be tough to judge. If he were playing in the CHL or USHL his point totals would be much different. Either way the guy is a specimen.

I like Greentree, he is a nice well-rounded player. He can skate, good hands and like the size element.
