Cayden Lindstrom suffered an upper body injury in late December and just had surgery...expected to miss 6-8 more weeks it was announcec2 days ago...So he has to be replaced on the Team Red roster for the Kabota CHL-NHL Top Prospects Game next week(Jan.24th)..
Too bad.. I was looking forward tovsedibgvhom play .

I have him taken by the Hawks #2 overall behind Celebrini IF Hawks draft 2nd..If Hawks draft 3rd and if a dman taken 2ndvoverall then I see Hawks grabbing him at #3 ...if he is off board before Hawks draft ,then obviously KD should switch to taking a RD...if both Lindstrom and KD's top RD preference still available when Haeksvpick, it is possible KD couldvchoosexRD nerdvover another top C who has both size +talent ...
I do not know which position Need KD is prioritizing
Anyway...wanted to see Lindstrom play...out of the question now..

So Team Red has both Sam Dickinson (LD) and Zayne Parekh (RD) ...and Team White has Carter Yakemchuk on its roster...

So will watch and give my observation on each of these top rated dmen...
A bunch of forwards nterested to watch in this gamecare Andrew Basha (LW) ...Keiron Walton (Sudbury LW/C) and Carson Wetsch ...the last two might be targets for our 2nd and 3rd selections of our 3 round 2 picks ...Basha if he lasts to early 30s would be a target for us with our firs tof the 3 picks of round 2..or even with our TB pick in round 1 if other targets for that pick are off the board.

How would you guys rate the top defencemen in this draft class?

They have very different profiles which makes it hard to put them against each other. Buium with his high IQ, Leveshunov with all his tools, Dickinson with his high end defensive play, Silayev with his size and Parekh with his offensive ceiling.

Who would you want us to pick if Davidson were to take a defencemen (or two) with either our or tampas pick?

Guess who this is (2024 top 10 prospect)

I’m starting to believe that for anything not 1OA, our first pick should be Levshunov.

Potential Combos 2-3 years from now…

Vlasic-Rinzel
Korchinski-Jones
EDM-Leshunov (Eventual 2D with Korchinski.)

Allen (Evenual 3RD partner for EDM when Jones is gone?)
Kaiser
Phillips
EDM was Canada’s 1st pairing shut down Dman in last years junior tournament always played vs the best the opponent had.
I’m thinking he ends up more than a 3rd pairing Dman.

Central Scouting is its own opinion, whether you or any actual teams agree or not with them. McKenzie’s list is a poll from orgs so more likely to reflect how the draft will shake out l
Two years ago MacKenzie stated it was 8 scouts. One each from 8 teams that comprise his poll.
I like the info but even within the same team you get differing opines. One team may have scouts favoring 3 different players. So it kind of depends on which scouts he speaks with.

The Eiserman smear campaign is out in full force. Billy Guerin working overtime to get a goalscorer.

Was there a smear campaign by Guerin in order to draft Charlie Strammel last year?

I can't speak for others, but my limited viewings of actual game play(Not highlights) by Eiserman have left me wanting in his play. I don't see a player that's capable of consistently carrying the puck into the zone. His skating is NHL average IMO. Compete level is no great shakes. Great shot? Sure but is that enough to put him in the top 5? Not at this point as I would take Demidov, Lindstrom, and probably Catton as forwards ahead of Eiserman and that's not factoring defensemen.

Dont know what this means. Just said that because Wild going to finish around 6-10 and they are both Massachusetts guys.

Dynamic scorers are hard to come by and hes the most dynamic goal scorer in NTDP history.

Cole Caufield is the all-time leading USNDTP goal scorer with 126 goals in 123 games. Cole Eiserman currently has 101 goals in 92 games. Realistically, how far can you let a guy like that fall even with the negatives?

If he's really that horrendous at everything but shooting, you can let him fall pretty far. Screenshot doesn't show the number of minutes tracked etc so it could be an especially bad sample? NTDP scorers tend to turn into great pros but Caufield isn't exactly someone I would be dying to have as a foundational piece

54 assists in 123 games for Caufield at NTDP.
56 assists in 92 games for Eiserman at NTDP.

Eiserman has 2nd best overall PPG in history of NTDP (min. 10 games played for obvious filtering purposes), behind Jack Hughes. Don't have a sense of like, scoring rate or whatever in the sort of USHL/NCAA mixed games he was playing in compared to guys like P. Kane, Kessel, Matthews, etc. but no doubt, the kid can produce.

Fact remains that Eiserman doesn't have the qualities that KD is clear he is looking for.
But if he's available for our second first than ... maybe .. but probably not.

I mean I would take a risk on him with Tampa’s pick but if I was a rebuilding team I wouldn’t want that as an expected core piece.

Yeah if he's surrounded with great playmakers and endless motor guys than he could be a valuable complementary piece.

Then you’re trading one of Vlasic or Korchinski, and keeping Allan, Kaiser, etc.. as a spare. Unless EDM somehow surpasses Vlasic, (and I don’t think that will happen) he’s a left side 3D, and we’re loving the Hawks’ defense.

They’re obviously very different players, but Eiserman reminds me a bit of Laine in terms of where their strengths and weaknesses lie. How high would Laine go in a 2016 redraft? I have a hard time believing it’s in the top 5
