Assuming we stay at 2 how would people feel if Davidson rolled dice and went high risk/high reward

#2 = RW Ivan Demidov
#20 = LW Igor Chernyshov
Trade #34 + #54 to get back into late part of 1st round = RW Nikita Artamonov
#62 = RD Luca Marrielli

Thoughts?
BWC advocates for three Russian draft picks in the first round.

I'm shocked.

I mean would those not be great picks at those slots?

Artamonov I would love to slide to #34 for Hawks but I think someone will grab him in last part of 1st, Why not Hawks?

Also, can see Chernyshov going well before #20, we saw similar rise for But at last year's draft

Beaudoin is a Center with size. If you're not willing to take him at 20, forget about him at 34. These guys get talked up relative to their play to date as opposed to the other way around.

I view EJ Emery as a candidate at 20. I’ve been pleased with his U18. Right handed defenseman. Granted there’s a lot of “Emery shoots wide and misses the net” but that’s ok, you’re not getting a superstar at the spot. 34th pick would be perfect but you don’t get greedy if the scouts like the player by hoping they last another 14 picks.
I like Emery but we need more upside at 20.

Big fan. I’d trade one of our seconds to move back into the 1st if we could.

He’s probably a reach at 20, but I wouldn’t hate it.

I like Elick too at 34.

I'm taking Artamonov at 20 all day.

I don't think there will be a better prospect available.

Do you guys really think the NHL would really give us the 1st pick again even if we actually win it? I have my doubts

Outside of the first pick, I would be disappointed if we left Demidov on the board if we have the opportunity

If the NHL wants to make money then they find a way to let Chicago win the lottery. Bedard to Chicago printed money. Nobody is going to pack the building to watch Celebrini in Anaheim, San Jose or Columbus. Fantilli and Carlsson had good seasons but you heard next to nothing about them. Chicago a bottom tow team had great crowds at a high ticket price because of Bedard. That doesn't happen in the other markets. Just sayin

Korchinski will be fine. 19 year old playing with AHLers in his rookie season. He didn't hit the rookie wall until about game 60 which was to be expected. He got a little better as the year went on. He will do so again next season.

Tanking team with a tanking roster. How good do you want the kid to look? The whole team was hemmed in their own zone all year.
Agreed

Look at how Blackhawks rookie defencemen have compared since 2006…

And this is an 18-19 yr old, who lost his dad(people forget that) compared to a two year AHL trained Keith, a 19-20 yr old Seabrook and a 24 yr old three yr NCAA van Riemsdyk(similar to Vlasic actually)…

Look at his GP and Mins/game

Good points.

Korchinski was in the NHL in his D+2 year. Vlasic in his D+2 year was still in college.

Korchinski's development is the last thing I'm worried about.

Korchinski had a bad season. Which was expected. It’s not a big deal. However, his development is something to worry about.

His development into a top 2D or not will largely decide the ceiling of the 2026-2032 Hawks.

The same way Cam Barker's development into a top 2D or not largely decided the ceiling of the 2009-2015 Hawks?

Of course a player not hitting their ceiling would be a bummer for any rebuild, ideally though that's why you have a deeper prospect pool than relying exclusively on your highest picks.

True. You’re right.

To me. You need 3 top 4D. A defensive D, a PP QB and a two way minute muncher. I think you’re right. I’m still adjusting to the post 2020 era where Hawks D prospects actually develop nicely.
