Why not? He's been better than a lot of the team in front of him, that's for sure.

But, I as an adult, want to see the true all-stars not this garbage if I am to take the ASG seriously. I have 0 reasons to watch this as an adult. Each team being represented is nonsense. And I don't think kids care about this ASG nowadays anyway. Yea, some kid in Columbus cares about Boone Jenner, lol.

I get asked about them pretty frequently by my nieces and nephews since they know I'm a hockey fan and they'll go on outings to hockey games now and again with friends. Like, who to look out for, who's that rough-and-tumble guy, they talked a lot about that one kid why is that, who's the cute one (yes, one or two of my niece's friends are teenage puck bunnies, sue me), et cetera.

I get that it's the in thing to rag on Columbus again now that we're back in the basement but you could at least have the common sense to not let it cloud your judgement.

I can't stand the Boone Jenner slander going on in this thread. He's a player that every team in the NHL would love to have.

No one on Dallas has really stood out IMO. Oetter has been snubbed for worse goalies in past seasons, so just doesn't bother me much.

I'm not bothered either, just a little confused by the selection. It makes more sense if no one else has played particularly well, too.

Didn’t he have a really good start and was amongst the top in the league for save percentage and GAA early on, then as Dallas’s play fell off a ledge so did his.

You won't find one Flames fan who will agree that Lindholm should be our rep and it has nothing to do with him wanting out, there are like 6 guys who should be there over him.

Coleman SHOULD be the Flames rep based on who has been the best Flame, Weegar would have been a better choice, Rasmus, Markstrom, Kadri, even rookie Zary are all better options.

But they aren't doing every team's best player. Tom Wilson isn't the best player on the Caps. Boone Jenner isn't the best player on the Jackets. And Igor Shesterkin isn't the best player on the Rangers.

I’m not a fan of every team getting a representative. Nobody wants to see Boone Jenner, with his 18 points on the season, compete in an All-Star Game, let alone a skills competition.

Presumably the idea is to maximize ratings by making sure each fanbase has a player they'd want to tune in and watch. Idk whether or not it actually has any impact though.
