OT: 2024 NFL/NCAA/HS Football Thread

What even are the rumors in the NFL especially pertaining to everyone's team in here? Most of us here are Jets/Giants fans, ZBC Dolphins, Afro with the Bills, someone has the Commanders in here but I forget who lol

My kids are Saints fans and it is Captain Nico Poo who is the Commanders fan and Rhodes81 is a Falcons fan.

Bills locked down most of their young core + JA17 with new extensions that lower their cap hits for the upcoming season. That + cutting Von Miller and some restructures gives the Bills around 20M in cap to work with.

Most are expecting all of the splash moves to go towards revamping the defense. I am expecting them to sign a decent name DT and draft another one. They also need an EDGE to replace Von, a CB to replace Rasul Douglas, and a S to upgrade over Hamlin.

On offense, another WR would be nice, but given the market (150M for Metcalf!) I am fine drafting a young guy and binging him in slowly. I don't expect many moves on offense, I think they like where they are at there. Cook will probably play out this season and walk next summer but that's a next year problem.

I like it as the short-term solution. Roll with Fields and Tyrod this year, evaluate for next year when the QB draft class should be better. If Fields exceeds expectations, then fantastic.

Fields plays well in 2026/2027 then great

Fields sucks in 2026, they draft someone in that qb class which is supposed to be miles better at the top than this one like a Nico Iamaleava or Drew Allar (not his biggest fan)

Fields sucks in 2027, you draft DJ Lagway or Arch Manning

Every FA QB stinks and Fields is the one you don’t have to break the bank for. Hes a fine interim QB for a team not looking to compete.

Most likely but it gives them a fun stopgap and gives Fields a chance to prove one last time the doubters (90-95% he does stink) but who knows, less pressure and his buddy at WR1

Broncos fan here. They need to sign a TE and ILB. Maybe WR if they can fit in.

They did sign Talanoa Hufanga from the 49ers, all pro safety. They should have one of the best secondaries in the league.

Lowly Jags fan here lol. Don’t post much about them because they haven’t given me much to post about aside from pure misery.

Big reset this off-season. Coaching staff fired. Baalke finally let go. Brought in a young promising offensive mind in Coen as HC. Hired Tony Boselli as EVP of Football Operations and brought in James Gladstone from the Rams as GM. He worked under Les Snead and was a key part of their overall strategy so that move excites me. It’s a fresh look. A young look in key spots of the front office and coaching staff. It’s new and maybe for once Shad Khan got it right.

So far it’s been a fairly low key free agency period. I really like the Jourdan Lewis add at nickel and they’ve made a couple low key good moves in the interior of the offensive line. It all comes down to the draft though. The Rams have done really well in that regard the past couple seasons so I’m hopeful Gladstone can do the same in Jacksonville.

I saw Engram visited the Broncos. He’d be a good signing for you guys. He didn’t fit in with what Liam Coen does with his tight ends. Not a very good blocker but a good receiving threat.
