God bless any person who will willingly come into this organization. I honestly feel bad for JD. He had plenty of mistakes and he received ample opportunity to try to make this team competitive, but he certainly cleared the low bar of the John Idziks and Mike Maccagnans in being able to identify talent in the draft. He was also very good in getting value in trades.

I can't help but think of an alternate universe where he is a more successful GM if his first job wasn't in this circus. I'll forever be grateful for him being a catalyst to get Manish Mehta off the beat though, and I hope that he beats him to a pulp after he leaked his cell number on Twitter for a moment yesterday. What a f***ing scumbag that guy is.

It couldn’t be any more obvious where the flow of leaks came from yesterday lol, and I’m all for petty payback even if Joe clearly did plenty wrong himself - including trading for Reddick after being told he wouldn’t report without a new deal.

Woody has clearly become more meddling though, that much was obvious even before these stories yesterday. Clueless and meddling is a bad combo.
What is it about the NFL that attracts owners who think they know better than anyone else? Fully half the teams in the league are owned by meddlesome dickheads.

Yeah Manish is a scumbag and Woody's a jackass but that doesn't change Douglas was a failed GM...the sad part about Douglas is he did a good job at GM at everything 'except' for finding a QB, a coach (assuming at least Saleh was his hire) and building an offensive line. Those are pretty much the three things you need to do to actually be successful, especially as a guy with an offensive line background himself for the latter.

The Shero comparison was pretty good, he left gamebreaker pieces for the next guy but he could never actually find the coach, goalie or defense himself.

Again, not excusing his failure. He had 6 years to try and mold the team and couldn't get it done. His big misses, as you mentioned, were at the most critical positions in the sport. But I bet he gets another job in the next 5 years and does become successful. I really do.

I don't know when we'll become successful here with Woody at the helm. I feel we're stuck in our Dan Snyder era until he's gone. Hopefully he does f*** off to the UK next year, and then we're left in the unsturdy hands of his brother.

That’s a good question. I’m not sure if it has any relationship to the NFL’s longstanding rule that a team’s primary owner had to be a human being. That puts a higher likelihood on ego being a driving factor in owning an NFL team. Then you add in that the NFL is a license to pro to money so teams don’t have to be all that good to turn a profit.

I really hope Commanders dont blow their playoff chances. They lost by a hair to Steelers and then to Eagles. Can see a landslide starting to develop.

Can also see the Cowboys finally playing a decent game this Sunday.

How did you settle on the Commanders as your NFL team of choice?

FIrst time i came to the US was in 2011 and i spent 3 months in DC with some family i have there.

Great fking pick for a team... well guess i should be happy for not going to Dallas or Cleveland

Fun fact: During my 2011 trip i went to Nashville on the Devils HF boards trip organized by Cj228.

If they are a good team, and not just an early season pretender, they will regain their footing.

I say this without knowing their injury situation, so I'll add, if healthy.
