I have a couple of favorites for the second round but the more I read about this kid the more I like him. Like you said, pure boom or bust, but if he booms then he far outperforms his draft slot.

For the second I'm liking O'Reilly, Zether, Poirier. There's a couple others that might fall like Jett Luchanko as well. I just hope that they don't take Lukas Fischer until the 3rd or 4th because you know they're going to take Fischer's kid.
I think Jiri’s son has some really good tools, I would be fine with taking him in the second. People will probably just look at his stats and try to crush the pick, but I think he has a lot to work with.

I feel like Maxim Masse is another guy from the Q you would like that might be there in round 2.

I think he's worthy of a 2nd round pick any day. My issue is that organizationally we're loaded on LD and I'd rather use our first and second round picks on forwards this year.

Anyone else warming up to the thought of going after Adam Jiricek? This might be the best player available.

I don't think MBN is going to be there. He has a lot of hype around him, for good reason.

After listening Tony Ferrari at WWP , no to Connelly and Greentree, Iginla and Eiserman are overrated , make sense to trade up for Cotton or trade down for Stiga, but the best choice at 15 is MBN. He's Kasper with offense

Yzerman and Draper have been in person scouting in Sarnia this season. I was at a game in one of the boxes before Christmas, got invited to another box a week later but didnt go because I had just been up there. Yzerman and Draper actually came and stopped into the box I was invited to for a bit ffs

The game was against London so obviously theres a lot of draft eligible guys they would've been watching, but Fischers kid was on the ice. Hes big and can move, but hard to get a read on his overall game in my few times I watched him

If Eiserman actually falls, can someone give me a reason we wouldn't draft him? Dudes been nearly a goal per game in every league he's ever played in. Checks the box for that "goal scorer" most of us have been clamoring for.

Sometimes he's too selfish with the puck, has inconsistent effort, can't defend and has been defensive about these qualities in interviews. You worry that he ends up in the Berggren situation where he isn't useful outside of a top 6 role, but can't quite force his way into one. So you take someone like MBN whom you evaluate to have the tiniest chance at being Hossa, and is likely a useful 3rd line winger regardless.

Personally, I'm really hoping Eiserman is there and would run up there to take him. He could be an absolutely elite goal scorer. Our team looks poised to have great depth and lacks talent. Eiserman represents our best chance at getting that talent.

If Hossa is being tossed out for MBN may as well toss out Mike Bossy as a pie in the sky for Eiserman...

All I know is that I will be disappointed if we take a dman or goalie with our 1st pick. I would trade back before taking a dman. Seider is going to be an 8mil man this summer, I would not be surprised to see Ed in the 6-8 range after his 1st contract. You can only spend so much on dmen in terms of cap and draft capital. And while dmen do make good trade assets, you need to have room and space to develop them to the point of them being a top 4 dman to be worthwhile as a trade asset. The Wings pipeline is stocked right now. We need forwards that have a high skill potential and the Wings should do whatever is needed to max out the value of their pick while getting that player.

Calling Nygard Kasper with offense is a pretty bad take. Kasper was a better prospect than Nygard in pretty much every facet. They produced at about the same rate in their draft years expect Kasper was in the SHL and Nygard HA.

When do you think our 2024 first round pick is hitting the NHL exactly? Why are you presuming that there will be a high skill potential forward available? Let me remind you that we are drafting 15OA.

They both hard working, Kasper is center , much more responsibility, but MBN has excellent shot

I’m not sold on our C depth at this point in terms of offensive output.

If a high potential C is there like Helenius, or Catton is there around 10-12, it’s worth It to trade up and take a shot on these guys.
Catton is going to have to make big strides physically to be able to play center in the NHL. Not sure if he gets there or not, might consider him no better than 50/50 as far as ending up a center.

Personally I would pick him top 15 either way though.

Cayden Lindstrom since he will be gone with the Wings pick and maybe a few others, I say trade down a little and get this kid Dean Letourneau. I would take a Tage Thompson lite. Some one with size who can possibly score. A lot woeful have to happen for that scenario to happen

How do you pronounce Iginlas first name? Is it simply Ty?

I think Jiri’s son has some really good tools, I would be fine with taking him in the second. People will probably just look at his stats and try to crush the pick, but I think he has a lot to work with.

IMO.

Fischer will be Detroit's 2nd round pick.

Masse has great skills, but can't skate at an NHL level. He reminds me of Kaliyev in LA.
