There's 11 D remaining. They need to cut 4 more.

Lev and Kaiser are injured so they'll be cut. Phillips and Crevier have been ass so they'll get cut.

Looks like Korchinski and Allan are making the opening night roster.
Could see that. I am sure Crevier and Phillips will both clear. Probably will call one of them up if there are no injuries as they won’t want KK or Allan healthy scratched too much, but I bet they reward both for a strong camp and preseason.

And also they’ll quickly realize Brodie is unplayable, so that’s two spots likely available.

How bad is Kaiser hurt?

Lol no they won't. He's still an improvement on Tinordi and he stayed all year. Too much money tied up in him to just send him down.

I'm surprised by Del Mastro and Dach being sent down.

Crazy how Spellacy is still up here, very impressive.

It makes no sense but is it possible they want to give Spellacy a regular season game or 2 before sending him back to the OHL? They did it with Saad way back in 2011

Or woukd you prefer they get a vet cebter off wai ers who can win faceoffa (hainst the better faceoff centers in the league?

Bedard sticks on draws bit maybe Tt takes tge draw if on his line?
Kurashev not great in draws for line 2at C..

Dickinson pk on draws line 3C..

Line 4C center?

Maybe they need a faceoff guy for linec4 and for special situation draws?
Hawks would have 2nd right of claim on any waivers..Is there a top faceoff giy who also can defend out there who will go to waivers?

Or will Hawks trade for a solution?

Given problems chasing after losing g draws,I think we do need such a sokution ..We needxat least 2 good faceoff Centers and right now only Dickinson is better thN average on draws unless Tt also can be above water..I think we want a way above water drW giy if we can get that.

That would be something!

I tink theyll keep him up until the last potential round of cuts as a reward and acknowledgement.

Defense locks:

Seth Jones - RHD
Alex Vlasic - LHD
Connor Murphy - RHD
Alec Martinez - LHD
TJ Brodie - LHD

Kaiser is likely either on injured list or on roster, not AHL.

One or both of Crevier/Phillips will start as possible pressbox defenseman if Kaiser can't go. I think Crevier has a couple games left of waiver exempt, so they probably send him down in any event.

Korchinski could go either way, likely depending on health of Kaiser.

Allan AHL.

Like I said in a previous post, I doubt Crevier or Phillips make the team out of camp. I don’t think management are worried about either being claimed, and they, so far, haven’t been good enough to earn a spot. One of the big themes coming into this year was more competition for spots and having to earn your way on the team. They have not.

Crevier doesn’t require waivers. Phillips will.

I'm gonna say opening night:

Martinez-Jones
Vlasic-Murphy
Korchinski-Brodie
Phillips

Once Kaiser comes back, assuming no other injuries either waive Phillips or send down Korchinski based on how Korchinski is doing

Those pairings are straight up atrocious. Vlasic and Murphy haven’t played together at all either. Based on the first game, vlasic probably plays with Brodie and Korch with Murphy.

Hopefully Brodie and Martinez are the bottom pairing sooner rather than later.

Vlasic and Murphy haven’t played together at all either.
And, as a quick aside: the D pairing with the most dungeon-esque starts was Vlasic and Connor Murphy, checking in at 35.29. Despite that, the duo had an xGF% of 45.36, which was third-best among Chicago D pairings last season. The Blackhawks even enjoyed a 10-7 goal advantage in the 151:49 of 5-on-5 ice time that Murphy and Vlasic were together. It’s a smaller sample, sure, but if Murphy’s health recovers next season, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Vlasic-Murphy attempted as Chicago’s primary shutdown pairing come October.

Expect a lot of Vlasic-Jones as well
