just re-sign him and commit to himI'm not 100% but it might be a bit late for that
they waffled between qb's all year

Mike Tomlin is by far the most overrated fraud in the league. When’s the last time he accomplished anything?
No one cares about regular season performances and his Super Bowl win was 15 years ago18 years of a .500 record! Went to a Super Bowl in his second year which they won, went to another 2 years after. But it's been a bag of mixed results since then.
Also, blowing huge playoff games like the Jacksonville game in the 2017 Divisional one.
The Steelers ownership clearly DOES care about the regular season though, for better or worse. No one cares about regular season performances and his Super Bowl win was 15 years ago

But Steelers fans care about yinzerisms like 'The Standard is the Standard' and 'We will not bow down into our fears' or the classic 'We will look at the tape and forget about it tomorrow'.
no, many have been ready to run him out of town for years, and more will join that sentiment after todays results
The last good Steelers team was probably 2017, they absolutely choked that chance away because Tomlin was hell bent on beating New England when he should've been taking care of Jacksonville.
Feel like he's been hanging by a thread since, he's had good seasons but the stupid ZOMG .500 SEASONS thing keeps on being overshadowed by his terrible playoff resume after 2010.
At the same time, dude coaches in a division with Lamar and Burrow and he made the playoffs with a beyond washed Russell Wilson. Where is Burrow at the moment?
Burrow is sending some beers to Tomlin to watch some playoffs at home.
Everyone including Stevie Wonder knew the Bengals defense was absolute ass, it wasn't Joe Burrow's fault the Bengals didn't make it, he did his part. That defense was absolutely terrible.
And the Bengals reacted by firing a large part of their blockage like a sensible team.
The Steelers should be considering sweeping changes themselves.
Bengals fired their DC the day after the season ended, it was time.
Steelers are sorta in a hole with Tomlin, there are some players on defense who are bound for the HOF later and they are running on fumes.

As long as TJ Watt and Cam Heyward are healthy, that evens the table...plus the Rooneys seem to be "string pullers" to an extent. So they can sneak in those typical 9 wins so Tomlin "never" has a losing season.i feel like tomlin/steelers underachieved when they had the core of ben/bell/brown and have overachieved in the last few seasons with far less pieces
still won't ever understand why any steelers fan would want tomlin gone though
I'll be politically incorrect and say that they have vested interest in padding Tomlin's resume. The last good Steelers team was probably 2017, they absolutely choked that chance away because Tomlin was hell bent on beating New England when he should've been taking care of Jacksonville.

he hasn't had a QB since ben retired. but i guess making the playoffs every season means you sacrifice high picksBecause his extremely talent filled defences crumble when faced with serious opposition and his extremely conservative offences make it very difficult to develop the talent needed for the team to raise its ceiling again.
The best argument for him is he keeps working wonders with ugly looking rosters but I'd rather have a HC whose eye for talent and ability to put young players in the right spot can help improve the rosters than a guy who constantly scrapes by.

They were going to give Russ his final ride as a starter come hell or high water.

still, i'd much rather make the playoffs every season where anything can happen rather than finish at the bottom and have to rely on your high draft picks panning out
That’s kinda how it’s happened. They haven’t been able to give him an offense, much less a quarterback. His receivers keep burning out. As a result, they get boatraced in the playoffs.i feel like tomlin/steelers underachieved when they had the core of ben/bell/brown and have overachieved in the last few seasons with far less pieces
