I do Three bullets.
But what do we need Cole Hutson for exactly! We're just as guilty. It was great to use the 2nd to move up and take Hage. But we should have also gotten an early 2nd and taken Cole.

It’s decorative. And what the blue hell do we need Cole Hutson for exactly...?
It’s like Cooley, get more of what we already have and don’t need. And what the blue hell do we need Cole Hutson for exactly...?
It’s unfortunate there aren’t enough spots for him. He looks like he’ll be a mini me of his brother. It’s like Cooley, get more of what we already have and don’t need.

DemiLane
We got our assistman. And we got our sniper.
Nchallah they'll play together.
Nchallah they'll score goals together.
And nchallah they'll win together.
Can't wait for this moment!

Cole's father quite clearly stated that he didn't think Cole and Lane should be on the same team as they would only impede on the others ceiling. There was zero chance that Hughes was going to select Cole and put him in a spot where Lane had the role that he expects to play unless Cole somehow fell to a spot where he would have had to take him.....that was not going to happen and did not happen.
Demidov: Look at my little american friend, I am bigger but he has bigger head and arms like orangutan. I like!!!
But what do we need Cole Hutson for exactly!
The only point of having Cole and Lane is to go brag on the main board that we have Cole and Lane. It doesn't make us better. It creates other problems.I don't know if it would have stunted Cole or Lane's potential. For sure I could see that point.
Sometimes if you bring a lot of good players together, it's a good thing.
A mini me only bigger, I think? Well, slightly bigger, 1 inch, 10 pounds, and he's still got some time. It’s unfortunate there aren’t enough spots for him. He looks like he’ll be a mini me of his brother.
Having Lane and Cole versus what we would have had to give up to get the 2nd to take Cole sounds like a good problem to me.The only point of having Cole and Lane is to go brag on the main board that we have Cole and Lane. It doesn't make us better. It creates other problems.
There’s different philosophies to building a team, I’m not a proponent of having a fivesome of Caufield, Cooley, Michkov, Lane and Cole and the rest of the team waiver pickups, 2nd rate UFAs and AHLers. There’s such thing as too much of a good thing.Having Lane and Cole versus what we would have had to give up to get the 2nd to take Cole sounds like a good problem to me.
Trading for an extra 2nd would have stripped us of all our assets so we would only be able to get waiver pick ups, 2nd rate UFA's, and AHLers? There’s different philosophies to building a team, I’m not a proponent of having a fivesome of Caufield, Cooley, Michkov, Lane and Cole and the rest of the team waiver pickups, 2nd rate UFAs and AHLers. The team that’s being built will already have more than sufficient offensive talent. Minus Patrick Roy, it will be stronger relative to the field than our 1986 and 1993 Cup teams.Trading for an extra 2nd would have stripped us of all our assets so we would only be able to get waiver pick ups, 2nd rate UFA's, and AHLers?
There's a big difference between passing on Slaf for Cooley and Reinbacher for Michkov versus acquiring another 2nd round pick to get Cole Hutson.
I'm in many, many cases against passing on a sublime asset due to need. But maybe the scouts didn't see Cole Hutson as a sublime asset. And maybe he won't be at the NHL level.
Yep.The team that’s being built will already have more than sufficient offensive talent. Minus Patrick Roy, it will be stronger relative to the field than our 1986 and 1993 Cup teams.
Stronger offensively and will be solid defensively. The 1986 team couldn’t have won trying to match talent vs talent. It won the only way it could, trapping and Roy. This team will be closer to the Islanders from the early 80s than the 86 Habs.Stronger offensively than the 86 team. Defensively? No. That club was insanely good with 2 Selke winners (and others who were nominees) 2 Norris winners and a defensive system that would later be employed by the New Jersy Devils.
With Demidov and the others I completely agree. This team will be able score at a rate we haven’t seen since the 70s. It won’t be the best offense in the league but it will be really good. I just wish Price could come back and win a cup with it.Stronger offensively and will be solid defensively. The 1986 team couldn’t have won trying to match talent vs talent. That Islanders team was not the Broad Street Bullies nor the Big Bad Bruins but it played with an edge… And it was skilled. With Demidov and the others I completely agree. It had three of the best players of all time. One of the best teams ever assembled. That Islanders team was not the Broad Street Bullies nor the Big Bad Bruins but it still played with an edge… and skill.
Yes it’s unfortunate for Price. He never had anywhere close the talent this team will have.
Having two of the top ten or twenty defensemen in the league is not a detriment, especially when Lane will be the inferior one.But what do we need Cole Hutson for exactly!
