If SKA looses in the 1st round (likely around April 10 ish) but his contract officially ends May 31st, I don't see SKA blocking him when he tells them one last time he is not signing in the KHL. Maybe there is a behind the scenes financial transfer the Habs offer.

The question is if the KHL season runs past April 16th (Habs last game) and the Habs somehow make the playoffs, is Demidov eligible to play for the playoffs? I know Romanov signed but was blocked from playing playoffs back a few seasons ago. Was that due to any Covid season? Not sure
