This. Especially the bolded part. I was not a fan of Levs play in his own zone at MSU and he's cleaned it up.

Do you really not understand the concept of why +/- is a terribly flawed stat that doesn't really carry any weight?

Other player's mistakes, not yours, impact your +/-. Bad goals by goalies impact your +/-. If you step on the damn ice a second before the goal is scored, it's a dash. If you had absolutely nothing to do with why the goal was scored... like a bad bounce off the glass or boards... you get a dash. Own goals. Bounces off players. All dashes. Like... how are you still arguing for +/- as a way to decide a player's value or ability? If a player puts up 20 goals and 20 assists on the PP... they don't get a single +. Are they a bad player who provides no value because they might be negative because of that? Say they have 40 PP points, and only 20 EV points. They're a minus 10. They must not be a top 6 forward. Or a top 4 D. Not a good player. Cus... -10.

Ole Old School came on here throwing shade on our 2nd OA pick who by the way has gone into a new and higher level every year apparently and has excelled after a number of months of getting used to the swing of things. One would think an experienced past scout ( the alleged buddy ) would be aware of this somewhat glaring factor and perhaps temper his initial reactionary judgement for a few more months.
Nope and one would think the friend of the buddy would pull back on continuing to hammer at this shortsighted analysis/projection of a this particular young D who is playing one of the most difficult positions as a teenager .. but nope. Ain't life grand!
Trolls gonna troll I guess. Well, I'm out of food for now. I think Old School's belly must be getting pretty full by now anyway .. at least one can hope! Be well everyone.

It's funny when I brought up actual data and factual information refuting his and his buddy's ridiculous opinion... he vanished. Shocking I tell ya.

Patrick Kane. Terrible player, has no business making the Hall of Fame... because he's a +2 for his career despite having 1330 career points.

I can't believe this is even an argument or opinion to have in 2025. Like JFC. :laugh:

On pace for 32 points and a -147. Moved to 3rd d pairing...send back to Rockford to develop. Long way to go.....
 
He had a rough game yesterday. But then, I don’t see this tool trotting fancy stats out when others are at the bottom. Agenda driven, like Lev banged his wife or something
