Team Demidov has been real quiet

Nice to see. Lev was always the right pick. I’m genuinely stunned how good he’s looked. I thought he would be more raw and I liked the pick

He was our best player against Vancouver. Not saying much but we only did let 15 shots. Our shots against has gone down in the last 3 games. He’s an automatic breakout for us. Very effortless at breaking the cycle and turning the puck up ice.

As seen in that Van clip, his teammates haven’t done him any favours helping with that either

That was Levshunovs worst of the three games and I think he’s been very engaged defensively and made a lot of correct decisions and selected plays correctly. His wings and centers are letting him down.

the team is -13 in those games and he is paying heavy minutes so that is not suprising. I saw a few things that were not so good but for the most part I thought he was solid. our forward group is not very good DEF right now. Maroon should not be scratched for velano who is way better DEF and BERT is not good DEF at all. its not about the number of shots its how many HD they are giving up.

You are missing the point. The scout said he massively struggles defensively...which is showing true through data and stats. But go on about your opinion.

No, you’re missing the point that +/- is shitty “data” and doesn’t prove that anything is “showing true”.

Levshunov is a -4 in his last two games. He also allowed just 0.75 expected goals against in 38:30 of 5 on 5 ice time in those two games. For those keeping track at home, that’s ~1.17 expected goals against per 60 minutes. That would quite literally be the best xGA/60 in the entire league if extrapolated over a full season.

But I’m supposed to believe he’s been poor defensively because the only “data” you can comprehend comes straight from the box score.
