I'd look for someone who can retrieve pucks and work the walls / corners / net front - that would help the other two score and not necessarily require this guy to be a goal scorer.

I'd still be aiming for Copp or Boone Jenner

I guess it depends on who is available. I think Nelson ends up in Min and I guess that leaves Granlund. TBH, neither of those guys excite me much and there will likely be a bidding war due to the lack of options

There's always the possibility that Chevy makes a hockey trade for a guy with term, but those aren't easy to put together (especially at the deadline)

Never thought about Copp haha. Him and Ehlers always played well together on the lower lines. Get him, Tanev and Armia all back here

I don't see how Copp improves the Jets much. Jenner has a NTC and I generally assume they won't waive, especially if they have some contract term.

Unless Petterson (not Marcus haha) is coming to town it's not likely anyone we bring in makes us much better. Just another piece to hopefully augment what we have. Lots of options for that.

I agree....the second line has never been settled. Chevy has tried to get a centre for awhile now to no avail. It has been a viable line only because of Ehlers. At this point, i would look for a hard nosed scoring winger for the line and run again with CP or Names at centre for continunity........If he trades Ehlers it will be the mistake of his long career.

I think the Avalanche blasted a hole in the you can't trade a UFA when you are a playoff contender. I would love to see Nik signed long term but if Nik is dead set on walking to free agency then Chevy should do what the Avs did, sooner rather than later.

I'd go for Risto and Seeler. The Jets have been rumoured to be interested in Seeler before, and though he has trade protection, maybe he agrees to join the Jets as a good Minnesota lad might. The opportunity to play playoff games might be a pretty good incentive to agree to a move.

Perhaps something like Risto+Seeler for Pionk (re-signed)+Stanley. Later picks to even out value.

That might not be too bad a playoff group. Flyers would have to be willing to pay Pionk $7+M on his new deal, though he would immediately be their top scoring dman and potentially pair with Sanheim on their top pair, and they would have to covet Stanley's size as much as the Jets seem to.

Next year, Salomonsson replaces Miller in the starting lineup and starts his climb up the lineup, moving DeMelo and Risto down eventually.

I think he'd compliment Ehlers and Perfetti well if Arniel wants to go back to running Nino Lowry Apples. If Arniel choses to keep Ehlers and Lowry together, he can slot in with Nino and Perfetti

Obviously there's have to be some amends made over the Gus KO but I think a guy like that is built for the playoffs and brings some size and grit to the line up that we need badly

Need someone faster than Monahan. He couldn't keep up with Ehlers.

Gms always play a dangerous game, and the fate of Ehlers is far from Chevy's toughest position. Barely cracks the top 10. Let's see how it plays out.

Agree Frost isn't the C we're looking for if we want impact at the 2C. That's where you're going to have to mortgage the future for the window of the next 3-4 years. JT Miller, Petterson, Malkin all move the needle. You gotta pay for good players with term!
