So from what I see, we could use a few veterans on our team that have won a cup or know what it takes. I'd say one of each a veteran defenseman to replace Logan Stanley, a solid back-up veteran that may have used to be a starter or can handle the starting role if needed as Comrie is nowhere close to that, and a fourth-liner that has tons of NHL games under their belt.

I would think something along the likes of Cam Talbot, Pat Maroon, and possibly either Jeff Petry or Jack Johnson. Maybe even go as far as making John Gibson 1B while Anaheim retains 50%.

Serivalli said something about the Necas trade not being thr biggest thing on the table in the last 48 hours

Ehlers not practicing today and Chevy had interest in Necas last summer?

Ehlers sure looked good tonight for a guy who is "sick"

Makes you wonder if there was something involving Ehlers and Necas that fell through when Colorado heard about it and offered Rantanen instead?

no, something else, the trade that just happened is bigger then a ehlers/necas trade so it wouldn't make sense to say something bigger was on the table

I’d be surprised if the Jets were pursuing Necas.

All indications are that he didn’t want to sign here long term when Chevy tried to acquire him this past summer.

Could have been more involved. Chevy said something cryptic the other day about a big deal

Just spitballin

Trending on twitter presently is speculation that it’s Crosby to Avs

I don’t believe it personally but that’s what is trending right now

I don't want fat balloon on my team

Chevy swoops in and scoops Crosby out from under the Avs to cement his legacy by bringing a cup to Canada!
If that happened, this would be HFJets:

"Ugh I can't believe Crosby... he's losing his xGF% matchups..."

"Crosby is blocking Lambert from playing in the NHL"

"Crosby has been with the Jets for 10 games and I can't believe he's only put up 16 points. Not even close to.the GOAT"

"I can't believe Chevy wasted another 1st round pick"

I think the Jets will watch Toews skate and train for a month and if he hasn't given up, they'll sign him to a contract on deadline day. League minimum pro-rated and put him on the taxi squad. They can support his comeback this way with minimal investment. Toews is living at his LOTW house, so it would work for him as well to stay close to home. Maybe he even gets a few AHL games at the end of the season, but the stated goal would be supporting him with a focus on next year.

Don’t forget:

“Crosby is a lightweight…we should move him for a tough, rugged veteran defender.”

“I think Kupari is due. We should give him a shot in the top six and move Crosby down between Gus and Toninato.”

These are your only posts anymore... fighting against imaginary hfboard

This is truly amazing ... Mikko Rantanen and Jake Guentzel cost Carolina a total of
Zero 1st round picks.
Zero of their top 4 prospects.
It was an interesting trade for sure. Makes you wonder how badly things had soured with the Canes and Necas. He's at 6.5M for this year and next then UFA

Then there's Chicago's angle, which I'm not sure about either

From Colorado's point of view, they get a guy for the next 2 playoffs (or this one then deal him) in Necas vs one from Rantanen and letting him walk, and at a lower cap hit

To me its about chemistry ... how will the teams respond?
Heard rumors Ranatanen was upset about the trade.
