I don't think there is anyway for certain to know if Anderson would be willing to re-sign in Winnipeg. He is 1 1/2 years out so he can't re-sign yet. Chevy would have to trade for him based on 1 1/2 years of service and hope he likes it in Winnipeg. He only has a 6 team no trade list, so maybe Winnipeg isn't on it.

Wpg is probably on his list. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't waive.

I would be inclined to pay up and hope we win a Cup this year or next. Also obviously hope to extend him but that is just the risk you take. Send Pionk back and they can hope to extend him.

I think Yager is the better bet to make it as 2C, so I hold on to him.

Andersson is exactly the kind of Dman we need. 2 way game with physicality and some snarl.

That said, I still prefer Weegar, for the term if nothing else. But he has a full NTC.

Swap Heinola for Salo and I think that's probably a deal that Calgary considers. They will get significantly better offers than 1st Yager Heinola. It's a massive risk that you make that move and he doesn't resign. Likely this is an offseason move when you can at least discuss the possibility of an extension with the player.

Wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. Not for Salo.

I don't offer Yager either. I get your point but I think Yager has a better chance of hitting. I would add to my offer of Lambert + Pionk + 1st. Add Heinola. Maybe more. But not either Salo or Yager.

I look at who will be helping sooner and that’s Lambert He’s likely moving up next year where as Yager is a few years away.
We have a window we are working with and we need to work within that timeline.
Yes we will need prospects for after, but adding Andersson is a huge plus on our back end, and fills a hole we’ve had for a few years.
I’d do 1st+Yager+Heinola, and would add as needed, but I wouldn’t add Salo and I’d try to keep Pionk for the remainder of the season…if possible. Grab Dumoulin from ANA and run…

Ohh I wouldn't do it either I just think that's what it would take to have the best offer.

With how poor the TDL market looks this year I would be completely content with them using a few mid round picks to get better around the edges. Bring in Dumoulin and Armia for a 3rd,4th,5th type of moves.

Yeah, I get the timing thing but I'm not that impressed with Lambert. I don't think he is the solution at 2C.

Just a little above your post we see that Andersson wants to stay in Calgary, so its moot anyway. At least for Andersson.

I would be willing to go hard for Weegar. But I would not trade Yager or Salo except for a return that I just don't think we could get.

Not interested in Miller. Good player. Too many issues. Not likely to waive for any Canadian city, much less Winnipeg.

Agreed. I don't think Chevy should consider trading either Yager or Salo, unless they are part of a deal for a long term solution at #2 center or top pairing RHD as they represent our best internal options to fill those 2 roles.

I think 2C is the biggest need right now. The Jets offence lately is too reliant on CSV, and our 2-4 lines have cooled off from their hot start to the year. Also, we can’t expect to get the penalty calls to go our way in the playoffs, so our hot PP may not be as helpful.

Jets need to pull off their version of the Eichel trade and go all in for Petterson. Lambert + Ehlers + 1st + Heinola/Stanley. Then you go out and get a depth 5/6 depth D to replace Stan/Heinola. VAN might also want Perfetti instead of Ehlers which I'd also do. Stop throwing assets every year at trying to fix the quality Center depth issue and set it up for the remainder of Helley/Scheif deals
