This team doesn't have much in the cupboard for a top pair D man that this team desperately needs for the playoffs, so a RD with term and fits into the Jets cap to play with Joshua is probably the greatest need.

I can't comment on Nelson this year, because I haven't seen him play. But he followed up back to back conference final appearances in bubble years with 3 30 goal seasons. Those guys aren't all over the market. Maybe Rossi is a 30 goal scorer this year, but with that forward group all the skill guys are smaller players, none are afraid to attack the net, but they are still guys that can get worn down physically. Maybe we aren't that different, except Vilardi is a force and Scheif is a beast and a better offensive player than Eriksson-Ek will ever be.I hope Minny trades Rossi for Nelson. They lose that one big time. Then I hope they sign him for too much, too long.
Granlund would be my next want.
I don't know about Cozens. His production falling year over year is more than a one off. With his contract, I don't know if there is any bidding war there.
I don't have any real interest in the rest.
I still prefer getting a solution to 1RD, with term. Use whatever trade chips we have there.

Kreider's quite the puck hog this year.Wonder what the ask for Kreider is? Stats look pretty bad this year but he's not a pure rental either. Would probably fit nicely with Namestnikov and Perfetti to add a big body scorer on the other wing.
Then you'd still have a potential Ehlers-Granlund-Iafallo line as well if Chevy is going all in again.
Tenacious in front of the net and really good at jumping out of swimming pools…but 0 hockey IQ.Kreider's quite the puck hog this year.
30 games played. 1 assist.

The 1RD debate is a valid argument.
Just remains to be seen if there is any willingness to break up Morrissey-De Melo, since they are the strongest pairing for the Jets in their current winning ways. Pionk has dropped quite a bit in production and shots against with Fleury, who is probably still a #7 at the end of the day. Miller has gone the furthest of all the Jets d-men in the playoffs, to the Stanley Cup, so his experience in a playoff battle probably has some value, and he may just be getting managed to be healthy for the playoffs.
I still think there is time to see Lundmark in a depth role, who might turn out to be a decent PKer, first pass defensemen who can join the rush. Salomonsson I hope joins the team for the playoffs, even if he doesn't play, just to be a part of the experience.
I don't have a solid opinion on Stanley/Heinola/Fleury going down the left side. I think each one of them is getting experience this year, and none have established themselves as the clear front runner. But give Chevy credit he did keep some depth on defense, in spite of losing Dillon and Schmidt. Even if it is inexperienced depth.
Also clearly better than Heinola.Nelson is 33. Rossi is 23. Nelson might have 1-2 more decent years in him, if he's lucky. Rossi has 10 years to get to that position. Rossi is outproducing Nelson already.
Hard to say where a new top 4 RHD would play to start. Depends on how the other 2 are going at the time. There are signs of DeMelo getting back to normal but he is not quite there yet. Pionk seems to be a good fit with Samberg. He probably gets better when Snerg comes back. Meantime, Fleury is doing a pretty good job filling in.
I think Fleury has shown himself to be clearly better than Stan but he doesn't play a very physical game and he is not a fighter. Arniel seems to want that.
Also clearly better than Heinola.

I don't think he is the player the Jets are looking to pair up with Joshua, more of a second pairing. Short term maybe DeMelo can get back on tract, long term they need to find someone. He might waive for a contender. I could live with the AAV. But he is 30 with 7 seasons to go. I suppose he would be one of those contracts you know is going to age badly but you swallow it bc you are in win now mode.
That said, I really don't know him well enough to have a solid opinion of his worth. Has good size, good skating, good scoring. How's his D?
That's not a deal that makes the Jets more playoff ready.I'd hold onto Yager and Salmon...anyone else would be available from the minors.
JMo, Samberg, Volare, 55, 81 and Perfetti are also off the table.
Pionk and Nino for Cozens at 1m retained.
And I’d rather take a known factor over an unknown.I'm not nearly ready to decide on Heinola yet. If Fleury is a 7 then Stan is an 8. Maybe Fleury is a 6 and Stan a 7. Either way, Heinola is still an unknown quantity.
He's got a full NTC I believe, like Zibanajed, so the Rangers are hooked to their top 2 centers, unless the situation gets so bad that they want to be traded out of New York.I wonder if the Rangers would part with Trochek.
And I’d rather take a known factor over an unknown.
If u are saying Stan is known bad I can agree, if you are saying fleury is bad and Heinola’s likelihood of passing that is high and is potential is much higher I’d question that.Known bad over might be good, or bad?
How about we find out what we have before making any decision?
who do you like better between him or jared mccannI wonder if the Rangers would part with Trochek.
