Hopefully, there is an injury or something repairable behind Byfield's regression, but it doesn't look good for now. He definitely looks like a little bit of PLD rubbed off on him as some of those penalties and plays look like there was laziness or unfocused apathy. He looks more like his bunny hopping and gliding to the bench days than the player last season that constantly hounded the puck and drove to the net. If there is no injury then it is 100% mental with him and they need to address it fast.

I typically like to have more respect for the players but Fiala stinks. He's proven to unreliable, too old to figure it out at this point. I thought it was weird we brought in the reckless guy that injured Mikey Anderson. I'm not sure I'll ever be on board with a player like him.

Byfeild is a different story to me. He's still young enough sort things out. Sure, it's concerning but not on the level of Kevin Fiala.

i have never laughed so hard watching a hockey game as i have laughed watching kevin fiala.
he would be a great subject for a slap shot-like movie.
i really hope the kings keep him just for the belly laughs

I'd still take this over having to interact with you know who in the GDT.

It's been pretty apparent for awhile now, but I think they are still clinging to the hope that he can be the player they expected on draft night, if he's a winger that is just never going to be a reality. But the reality of the current situation is that this team is in a win-now mode and they have a gaping hole on 1LW and he best fills it. QB had 20G and 55Pts last season in that role and showed flashes of offensive dominance, the Kings just aren't going to get any of those things from Turcotte. And then when you add in how poorly QB's playing at C it just makes to much sense right now. Switch Byfield and Turcotte and let Turcotte be an excellent 3C and hope like hell that QB gets going again at his best position.
It’s difficult to put a reasonable argument against any of that. It seems such an easy decision at this point. If they want to try him at C again later on then fine but right now they need him confident and playing a role he’s comfortable with.

Definitely weird but on brand for Blake. He's completely tone deaf to shit like this and doesn't vet "winning culture" type players like Lombardi did. No f***ing way DL trades for PLD or Fiala.

That was a brutal showing last night.

I'm really starting to become fed up with Hiller....

5 forwards on the 1st PP unit and a whooping 0/5 on the PP to show for it. Byfield can't figure it out so Hiller's bending over backwards to try to get him going. I mean Hiller legitimately had Laferriere playing center out there with Foegele and Jeannot just so they could try to get QB some time with Kopi and Kempe.

And then he comes out in the post game presser talking about how great he thought the team played???? Give me a damn break.

Montgomery would have these guys firing on all cylinders within a week of his arrival.

Buffalo played a good road game and didn't give the Kings much room, so I have to give them credit for that. It was frustrating to watch, though. I really need to stop watching games live (on TV). Why waste around 3 hours when I can just watch a recording and be done with it in an hour or less?

So glad I missed this game. What an awful effort, worst of the bad losses, It's like they phoned it in from the start. Losing to Buffalo again, and getting shut out! Bag skate'm all I say.

Imagine getting bodied by the sabres

@Buddy The Elf there’s one person depressed enough to do so

I left a few minutes into the third period. That game was beyond boring. Luckily, I used the tickets they give you from the "birthday club" so I only forked out about $75 to upgrade to 200 level seats. That said, I dropped another $150 or so on drinks and food which I normally don't do.

I don't expect them to win every game but after about 10 minutes I kept repeating to myself "snoozefest" to the point it annoyed the old man in front of me who said "i get it". Literally nothing happening the entire game even with a bunch of PP's.

The only game that I can think of that I've been to that was more boring than this was sometime around 2007 or 2008 when the Kings played CBJ and the shot total was 6 to 3 after two periods.

Yeah the only game i can remember nearly as boring and frustrating simultaneously as this one was

Canucks only had 13 shots on goal, Kings only had 20...canucks were missing Edler to suspension, Kesler, Booth, kassian, Higgins, Pinizzotto, and were so depleted they had Keith Ballard playing wing. Kings lost 1-0. But in that one the Canucks scored relatively early so just let the air out for the rest of the game.
