Another feather in Rob Blake's cap. An $8m player being sat do to poor and lazy play and a garbage attitude, a player that Blake traded by far his best draft pick, who has developed into one of the best all-around defenseman in the NHL at age 22 AND an additional 1st rounder for.

And Fiala is the result of just dreadful drafting that failed to find the type of offensive star players a team needs to contend. When you can't draft them you have to trade for them (because you need offense to win), and since teams don't trade offensive players who are good all-around players who have a high compete level, you are stuck with heavily flawed and overpaid players like Kevin Fiala who teams keep moving on from.

But again, he's just a result of lots of other poor decisions. Stutzle looks like he is well on his way to a 100 point season, just a dominant offensive player that the Kings passed on. You can include Boldy and Caufield from the year before too, and Suzuki and Necas in 2017, they really know how to evaluate high end pieces! And before anyone says "hindsight" or "Monday Morning QB", nobody is asking them to bat 1.000, but you can't continually make the wrong picks and pass over on better players year year year after year and hope to keep your jobs.

A summer of 2006 type gutting to the studs is going to have to happen with this organization. The amount of massive mistakes can't be corrected on the fly.

Hiller is an idiot . How do you bench your best pure offensive player .

They are playing a team that is tanking for a Top 5 pick, so they should be able to win without him, and the message is still sent.

The problem is Kevin Fiala has done this type of stuff before, and attempts by previous organizations to correct his attitude have not worked.

But hey, it's a good thing he's not signed forever or anything, right?

Another underwater asset for BLuc.

Fiala is as dumb as a bag of particularly stupid, mustached rocks.

Well yeah Fiala does take stupid penalties and some terrible passes that lead to turnovers but so do many other offensive players around the league . I feel as though the pros outweigh the cons with him . Although last game both penalties on him were pretty weak .

True but we haven’t had an offensive threat like Fiala since Palffy when he’s at the top of his game . He has responded pretty well after being benched last year and played 10x better so hopefully he does the same

Did you miss the part where he also missed a team meeting?

Fiala also is tied with Laffy for the most goals on the team with 4 . When you can barely put the puck in the net sure lets bench our leading goal scorer

We also won 1 single playoff round against a badly injured Wings team during Palffy's tenure.

When we were a team winning playoff rounds and cups we had "non sizzle" players who put the tem first

f*** Fiala what a dumb piece of shit seriously

Hiller having to say “yeah we talked about it water under the bridge” to this says a whole lot about Kevin.

It’s one thing when your actions on the ice are liabilities putting the team in bad situations, it’s another when you carry it off the ice too.

At least we didn’t trade a high character young future captain for a f***ing malcontent enigma.

If only Allison and Deadmarsh were healthy just saying . That team could have made some noise if we had those 2 along with Felix Potvin continuing to play as well as he did . But yes our dominant run from 2012-2014 was a beaut and all players would sacrifice for one another and not take chit from nobody . It seems like most of our players are scared to block shots which has lead to us being bounced by the Soilers the last 3 years but i like what i am seeing so far from our team in regards to blocking shots and Joel Edmundson out of all has made the most impact in that department

People keep saying this, but Kopitar and Carter were clearly better offensive players than Fiala. Pavol Demitra was better than Fiala and a case can be made that Frolov and Cammalleri were just as good offensively as well.

I remember Ziggy Palffy, Kevin Fiala is no Ziggy Palffy.

if Fiala wants out, looks bad for Blake. And now, (the one that shall not be named) has Gavrikov to MTL (e3) and that Kings are interested in 37 yo Alec Martinez from Chi.

Kings are worst looking 5-2-2 teams ever. Shoddy defense, no forward offense, poor special teams.

Thinking a crazy move or 2 incoming. May have a way different roster, by time DD returns

I think Fiala blew a gasket and maybe he's heading outta town, shame really because when he was on he was pretty darn good
He was before that mutant on the Wild kneed him... he was unreal. But coming out this season and regressing in the stupidity department is a bad sign. Im sure he has lost enthusiasm for playing on this idiocracy which makes him care less and revert to his natural carelessness. No one thrives here.. facts

Nobody must have loved PLD more than Fiala. With PLD soaking up all the negative press, no one was talking about what a godawful trade the Fiala trade was in its own right.
