People keep saying this, but Kopitar and Carter were clearly better offensive players than Fiala. Pavol Demitra was better than Fiala and a case can be made that Frolov and Cammalleri were just as good offensively as well.

I remember Ziggy Palffy, Kevin Fiala is no Ziggy Palffy.

I remember Palffy also he was one of my favorite players to don the Kings uniform ; i never claimed Fiala is Palffy . I will give u Demitra may he RIP he was a phenomenal player and one of the most underrated players of all time. But no on the others as far as pure offensive skill goes only Demitra was up to par . Kopitar is the best all around player but not purely offensive

Once again I just happened to be up late enough to throw the game on, tune into an absolute snoozer against weaker opposition.

Oh, and the second worst major deal Blake has made is finally coming home roost. So that’s great.

Just in case we hadn’t had the point driven home lately that it could be the better part of a decade to unf*** this franchise.

I am beginning to agree

I thought he was ready after seeing him at the Frozen Four, he really had a dominant freshman season, but I think you are right, he could have used another year getting bigger and stronger, while also gaining more offensive confidence.

When it comes to college players, you can never hurt their development by keeping them in school an extra year, but you can hurt it by pulling them a year early. Even when it's 60/40 you think they should leave as a freshman, probably better to play the sophomore year, the evidence of players becoming better with the 2nd year is overwhelming.
Wished Turc would have stayed at least until after his Soph maybe Jr season he would have been all the better for it and minus 3-4 concussions

Gotta say Hiller is starting to grow on me. I love the benching of Fiala.

He also demoted PLD to the 4th line.

There were rumors that behind the scenes he's a hard ass and willing to go after players.
I think he would have been better as a coach 20-25 years ago when this style was more optimal, or even now, with a highly talented young team that needs a task-master to teach good habits (say in Anaheim or SJ)

For a veteran laden team with not a lot of offensive talent, I really don't see much of a ceiling with this guy. I think the Kings needed an offensive oriented coach that is going to maximize the limited talent they have.

I like fiala.
In otherwise dim seasons filled with mediocrity, ive never laughed harder at an nhl player than i have at fiala's idiocy

Yeah, the Kings under Blake have never understood that concept of developing confidence in young players, and this unfortunately is the worst example (out of many bad examples).

Turcotte inexplicably pulled from school

Clarke and Byfield both dicked around with excessive AHL time to manipulate contracts three years down the road.

All the BS that Kaliyev was put through

Akil Thomas comes up, looks great and is immediately scratched for the next 14 games the team plays.

You just feel bad for these guys, because it's probably a much different story if they are in other organizations.

"i'm on the other side, i've gotta wait a second" says the ref

how about a) get your ass to the right side
or b) don't wait a second
