2nd star 2 the right
We have one, maybe two (depending on the aging curve of Couts) parts of the center question solved, if one they would wake up and accept that. Frost is currently a rare (for the Flyers) case of a player actually living up to draft hopes, and their response is to hate him for it. It's wild.
It’s revisionist history. People forget and expect a player to be better. He’s been very good and exceeded what was expected defensively he is light years a head of what we thought. Yes he’s not a 1 c. He’s and 2-3c which is exactly where he should be. Having av shame Patrick into playing after a concussion is what set the organization back. Yes that’s what happened in fact after he seemed better av refused to take him to the bubble because he thought he was soft and not just being a whimp. Also didn’t help the franchise said it was migraines instead of realizing their life long problems with understand concussion systems.

Right! 2-3C was best case! We've done it! Celebrate by running him out of town!

It's Ghost all over again.

He's at least been decent since returning. Seeler on the other hand has been garbo this year. Shocker. Who could have guessed a career 7th dman was not a good option to sign a 4 year deal with

I expect oilers to have a crazy penalty differential even more compounded by their pp%. Basically polar opposite of what we are used to from flyers

Not really, 23rd in penalty differential:

Edit: PHI is top7 in both penalties taken and drawn per 60

So annoying read people post dumb stuff.

Frost was drafted the same draft as Patrick. Who was supposed to slowly take over for coots as 1c. And frost was supposed to to be a skilled 3c who could grow into a 2c role as he matured in the league as coots slowed down. Frost is already better than his original expectations but he needs smart players with him. Complaining about center points in a torts system screams you don’t know what you are talking about.
If he's a smart playmaking center, he should make his wings better, not depend on his wings to make him better. He's played with top six wings for most of the last two years. His wings outscore him.

Frost was a late 1st rd pick, TK grossly exceeded expectations, Frost to a small extent, he's better than Laughton or Poehling, but he's still a 3C on a playoff team. Which is nice depth, but nothing to get excited about.

Jett will be better than Frost in a year or two.
They still need another top six center.
If they can package Frost with other assets to nail one under 25, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

He's routinely been the best player on his line and you insist he's the one being carried? Your agenda is showing.

Not Cates though, he's already a center every team in the NHL would love in their middle six.
He's a bottom six center, they're going to see if he can handle 3C.
He still got a lot of value as a depth player who can matchup defensively, play your PK, play LW nad at worst be your 4C.

Frost is worth keeping if he'll sign an extension at 3C money, but you don't pay him like a top six forward.

Cates is 26 in a few months, his time for development past what he is now is not quite zero, but close to it. I feel confident in saying it's unlikely he ever becomes more than a good 4th line center, and it's clear he's a good defender who puts up mediocre to bad offensive numbers.
