Tell it to Couts, G, TK, Sanheim.

Oh you mean the guys who were so good that they couldn't fail, despite the team's best attempts to trash them?

These aren't shining examples to point to as a defense of the Flyers. Aside from Giroux, who was developed prior to the team embracing Hextall's mantra of enforced futility, this is all a big pile of negatives in the realm of player development.

The fact that in 17 years we only have 4 true examples of players perhaps hitting their potential is even more grim than the possibility of swapping Frost for Foligno. And they had to fight against the team to make it happen, rather than the team helping it along.

Once again an attempted defense of the Flyers makes the Flyers look even worse.

With Bedard moved to wing last game (Not sure if it will be permanent, he really needs to work on his faceoff game.. I hope they dont give up on him at C in just his 2nd season and our coach is a moron)

The Hawks C situation looks like this

Dickinson
Foligno
Donato
Reichel

Nazar playing great in AHL but sounds like Hawks want him to spend more time down there and not rush him onto this mess of a team. Dach was moved to wing fulltime in Rockford and Boisvert, Greene, Thompson and Moore are likely years away from being options in NHL

So yeah, please send Frost to Chicago
The only one on the current roster we'd be interested in is Reichel.
In the system, Boisvert.
That's about it, other than draft picks.

There is no scenario that would see Hawks trade Boisvert for Morgan Frost

As for Reichel, Torts probably would put him in doghouse before he lands in Philly. But Reichel probably could be available in trade

He after all was not Davidson pick to begin with

He thinks Oliver Moore stinks. Many of us do not. I also realize they’re not getting Moore for Frost. The problem is that any affiliated prospect most of us would take for Frost won’t be available. So the only answer you’re going to get here is picks. Then we can allow ourselves to pretend they won’t find new and interesting ways to screw those up too. My best guess as to the winning bid would be a non-Blackhawks 2.

Reichel + Tortorella would be a disaster as you said.

A self proclaimed "high IQ" person bringing up W/L records to determine effectiveness will never not make me laugh.

All this arguing in here but at least we can all agree on 1 thing. How much better this team would be if Briere got the Sanheim for Krug deal thru.
Give it a couple weeks. We'll be hearing about how the Flyers were right to make the trade.

This isn't AV/Ghost.
Torts is more frustrated than unhappy with Frost.
If he's traded, it won't be to dump him but just b/c it's not working and it's time to move on.

It is AV/Ghost, and management loves it. They loved it then, they love it now. Abuse of players is an important priority for them. Hence why Clarke couldn't get in front of a reporter fast enough to blast about how badly Tortorella will treat players. This is important to them.

Other players know, too. Hence NMCs being used to stay away.

It’s mind blowing to me that so many fans can’t see that:
A. The team is simply bad
B. They badly lack elite talent, especially at center
C. The pp is a trainwreck
D. The head coach needs to retire

I’ll give credit where it’s due, Shaw has done a nice job. Sanheim has taken his game to another level under Shaw, York has developed nicely and he’s managed to get all you can expect to get from guys like Seeler and Risto. And, of course, the pk has done a complete 180 since he took it over. But other than that, and Briere lucking into MM, it’s been just a constant stream of futility.

When the examples are from players drafted THREE gm's ago that might not look good for the 5 year rebuild.

People keep talking about Torts and personnel, but has anyone actually thought about Briere and how he thinks? He was undersized in the "clutch, hook and slash" era. Yet he's one of the top playoff performers in NHL history. He was up and down between Arizona and the AHL from 20-23 before he finally won a starting job at 24.

So what would Briere value from his own experience?
1) obviously not size, though he probably appreciated teammates who'd stand up for him
2) IQ, work ethic, mental toughness
3) Perseverance, young players who work hard to improve, and don't get derailed by adversity
4) Speed and skill, his meal ticket
5) the ability to raise your game when it counts, against better competition and in big games

“I get excited about the fact there is no tomorrow and you have to be at your best; focused all the time. For some reason, some guys perform better when the pressure is on. I don’t know why that is, but I can tell you I feel more comfortable at this time of year.”

Danny may appreciate "grinders" who did the dirty work and got him a puck, but I doubt he wants to build a team of grinders that had no place for a player like himself. But I also doubt he's overly impressed with offensive skill without the willingness to do the things to help the team win.

He's not going to have a problem with sending prospects to the AHL to marinate given his own experience. He's going to be patient with prospects b/c he knows sometimes a player will take time to develop.

I'll bet his favorite current Flyer is TK.
