Does that mean it was a rebuild from 2017-2020, when almost all these players were picked? Seems disingenuous! There's Michkov, and then there's Luchanko (youngest player in team history skewing that), for whom no rebuilding team would ever burn an ELC year in his D+1.

You could play an entire team of 18-22 year olds, but it doesn't make it a successful rebuild. The Sharks are older than the Avs. It's noise.
York #14-2019
Brink #39-2019
Foerster #23-2020
Andrae #54-2020
Michkov #7-2023
Luchanko #13-2024
Tippett, Drysdale (Gauthier #5-2022) post 2018 trades.

2021 was the worst draft, starting with trading #1, Tuomaala, Kolosov
2022, Bump, McDonald
2023, Bonk, Bjarnason, Zavragin, Barkey, Ciernak, Sotheran

The problem was neither Hextall or CF was trying to rebuild.
The scouts haven't been the problem, a FO without a coherent strategy was the problem.

Sure they have to an extent. No real gems outside the 1st rd. No unearthed studs.

How often does any team find a "gem" outside the 1st rd?
I mean it happens, but it's also rare. Like two in a hundred picks from 33-100, maybe one in a hundred picks from 101 to the end of the draft.
If Errson is a starting goalie, or Zavragin . . .

Not talking about or concerned with other teams. The Flyers is the topic of conversation.

When the if's become facts then we can use those as examples. Sam is at a minimum a solid NHL goalie.

Go compare the teams in the division for starters from say 2010-2021 and see how many outside the 1st rd have been NHL players for an extended period.

Philly
He took some Chel type hits last night.
WHEN HEALTHY...

Drysdale flashes a truly high ceiling every game. Watch 60 minutes and you will see these little glimpses.

Drysdale also frequently has some mental mistakes, shows no confidence, and runs around aimlessly in his own zone too.

The ability is there - he's so damn gifted, but not looking great so far to be a top 4 D.

Some real dumb f***s on twitter mad about TK playing the right side. It doesn’t make sense to have him and Michkov on the same line anyway

I don’t want tippet with Michkov. Rather see farabee or forester. Farabee has played well with brink. Give them coots. And forest to frost and Michkov. Put the smart players together.

If the Flyers scratch Luchanko for the next back to back game in Washington on the 23rd, his 9th game would be October 31st at home to the Blues. So the 10th game that would start his ELC would be November 2nd at home to the Bruins.

Is it team games of games played that counts against his 9 game trial?
