The idea that trading Murphy is a difficult decision is absurd

Its been time to move on from him
The only argument I can see is that he’s still a worthwhile veteran presence on the blue line. He (and Jones) can help shelter some of these kids so it may be worth it to keep him around until next year.

It really just depends on the return. If we can package Murphy or Murphy + for a 1st then I say go for it. As long as Martinez and Brodie are gone I’m happy.

Donato should not be a hard decision. Career bottom sixer having the best year of his career. Take whatever you can get on and move on. Don't bother re-signing a replaceable player like that and if you get something it's better than nothing.

Murphy, it depends on what's being offered for him. If you're going to retain, I wouldn't just trade him for scraps because he has that extra year and you have to consider how you'll replace the lineup spot.

Agreed. Murphy has a role still. He can shelter kids with Vlasic and Jones (lol...), so we don't have to bring in a vet or have two kids out there on a pair.

But if someone offers a 1st, we should get it and sign some competent vet for a cheap 1 year deal.

Oh sorry, basically what you already said :)

Korch wasn’t even intended to be up for more than a game or two. He got rewarded with an injury call up because they were happy with his progress in Rockford. Blew the doors off everyone in the first couple of games and earned a longer stay but now that he’s dropped off a bit it’s time to go back. I’d imagine he stays until the deadline

Korchinski absolutely looked better this year, which is encouraging

But he was the most sheltered player on the team, and still wasn't producing

I didn't realize KK didn't log a single point in 9 games. Kind of assumed if nothing else he lucked into an assist here or there since he did look better. Nadda.

You can tell Korchinski has improved but this won’t hurt.

As for Kaiser, he needs to show something. Or he’s going to find himself a part of a trade for a better player.
Kaiser needs to show less of something which is unforced giveaway's.

Korchinski is certainly better than last year, especially in his own zone. Playing 3rd pairing with Brodie wasn’t the answer to improving. Playing in all situations in Rockford is best for his progress. He’s only 20 years old.
