Are you CanadianThere is absolutely nothing tangible that says AA doesn't want anything to do but collect a cheque just from his play alone.

Are you Canadian
I'm starting to suspect that this is Musto's troll account.
I'll give you that he's not good. But you realize he's a free agent after this year right? He's going to have to try if he wants another contract for more than the league minimum.Have you watched AA?
There is absolutely nothing tangible that says AA doesn't want anything to do but collect a cheque just from his play alone.
Once they figure out they still pay you if you play or not you can find the Lonzo Balls in every sport.
Well, he's made around 20 million dollars in his career if those contract sites are accurate. That's a good chunk of change.I'll give you that he's not good. But you realize he's a free agent after this year right? He's going to have to try if he wants another contract for more than the league minimum.
Maybe I'm wrong?
(Grabs AAs career folder, opens folder, licks finger, turns page, turns second page, closes folder)So you think that him being around young players will try to convince them to try hard for just long enough to find a desperate GM to overpay players just so they can reach the cap floor, then bag it for the entire contract, and then finish their careers in Europe around beaches of beautiful women and men?
By paradigm, do you mean he's starting a pattern of guys playing for money over Stanley Cups? Because he isn't the first one who was all merc over historical substance. You think he's changing the paradigm of players dreaming of their names on the Stanley Cup to ending their careers as a somewhat rich disappointment on a beach in Europe?
Or find a sucker like Davidson.Yeah, JFields not making much sense here. To make your $4 million salary dreams come true, you have to do something to convince someone to give it to you.
Players getting overpaid happens pretty regularly, you still have to do "something" for there to be a sucker in the first place.Or find a sucker like Davidson.
Why is it a useless excuse? The point is, AA didn't deserve the money, Davidson still gave it to him. That money could have been better spent. And cap floor is just a useless excuse.
TBDDavidson is the problem. He's a horrible judge of talent and projecting results from his NHL25 GM mode program.
He's not screwed upLeave it to Davidson to screw up a "generational" goal scorer by not bringing in actual talent to surround him with to the point a kid who's bread and butter game breaking talent has taken a back seat to "but bro he's such a great playmaker" when in juniors he had more goals then assists.
And then what? GMs get fired all the time, who cares.Sooner or later, probably later, you will all see the problem as clearly as yours truly.
(Grabs AAs career folder, opens folder, licks finger, turns page, turns second page, closes folder)
Yes.
AA is the purest definition of right place, right time, just enough talent to find a stupid GM and exploit his stupidity that the NHL has seen.
By paradigm, do you mean he's starting a pattern of guys playing for money over Stanley Cups? Because he isn't the first one who was all merc over historical substance.
Or Paradigm as in model? The same model that Lonzo Ball, Zion, washed up pitchers, Eloy, Luis Robert, Cody Bellinger have blazed the trail in perfecting in the current sports landscape?
Bellinger could go to the Yankees for a shot at a WS, yet chose to stay on the Cubs for? You guesses it, 27.5 million dollars. Blocking what, two uber talented kids?
Most important thing is to keep the cap clean, so overpaying AAV with low term is much more important than getting someone better that commands 5 or 6 years.Given the situation the Hawks were in at the time, overpaying AA on two years doesn’t really mean much. I’d rather see them overpay character guys and leaders like Foligno if they’re going to do it to hit the cap floor… but it really has no long term impact.
OK, what did AA do?Players getting overpaid happens pretty regularly, you still have to do "something" for there to be a sucker in the first place.
Because there were better players out there to waste money on.Why is it a useless excuse?
lol if this team being the drizzling shits three years in a row isnt convincing...
really? What were everyone's projections for Bedard before the year started? 40 goals? 50 goals? How many times has he slammed his stick against something so far this year? More times then goals scored? He's not screwed up
A GM who fails at a rebuild when he lucked into a talent like Bedard puts this franchise back to the days of the ABC line, Karpostev, and the washed up Russian brigade Smith tried bringing in.And then what? GMs get fired all the time, who cares.

So long as Kyle Davidson has a job as GM...I'll admit he benefitted by being in the right place at the right time but I don't think other players can count on that for them to just pack it in and hope to find a dumb GM.
Seriously, have you watched Seth Jones play recently?I'm not claiming he's starting any pattern. Yes there are plenty of guys who are in it to get paid. But I am arguing that those guys are going to be those guys whether they happen to be on the same team as the guy you claim AA is or not. I don't see them becoming lazy just because they see a guy getting paid in the press box.
Lebron, Aaron Rodgers(1 title), Shaq, Kris Bryant (1 title) Mark MessierBack to the original point though, I only see him as a waste of Danny Wirtz's money. I'd love for you to come up with a player who was motivated to win multiple championships only to turn into a paycheck collector
DWade, Harden, Degrombecause he saw one other guy do it.
I think the fact AA has done nothing since signing that contract sets a bad precedentThe Blackhawks have had and will have players here for a paycheck but I don't think it's because of Andreas Athanasiou getting a contract to reach the cap floor.
Do you fundamentally understand how Tank/Rebuilds work? Why the eff do I care that the Hawks were "drizzling shits" for three straight years? Were they on a Stanley Cup collision course in 2021-22? Are you aware of the era that followed the "ABC line"? I'm sure as a Wings fan, you got blindsided into thinking Hakan Andersson was going to draft Hall of Famers in the 7th round forever and the Wings would continue contending for another century. Then Chelsea Dagger became a song of nightmares for you in the 2010s. The Hawks sucking majorly in 2005-06 went a long way to making that possible.Because there were better players out there to waste money on.
lol if this team being the drizzling shits three years in a row isnt convincing...
Davidson did not bring in actual nhl talent to compliment him. He brought in talent, just not the right talent.
A GM who fails at a rebuild when he lucked into a talent like Bedard puts this franchise back to the days of the ABC line, Karpostev, and the washed up Russian brigade Smith tried bringing in.
sure I do. But does Davidson?Do you fundamentally understand how Tank/Rebuilds work?
If you wereva Hawks fan, you would. Why the eff do I care that the Hawks were "drizzling shits" for three straight years?
no, but bowman tried to get every last drop out of his core. The guy got addicted to winning, can't knock him for it. Rewarded Seabrook for being a warrior and paid for it. Traded for Jones who at the time was pretty damn good then got paid and now you see what he's become. Drafted Debrincat, signed Hagel, drafted Vlasic and Allan...come to think of it, bowman was better at this rebuild shit then Davidson....Were they on a Stanley Cup collision course in 2021-22?
Yes. It's looking similar currently. Are you aware of the era that followed the "ABC line"?
Show me one time where I posted in the wings forum here. I'll wait. The only nice thing ive ever said about the Wings are they signed Kane and Cat. Former Hawks, of course.I'm sure as a Wings fan,
Who?you got blindsided into thinking Hakan Andersson
chelsa dagger is a garbage song regardless. The fratellis are a garbage band. They made one video with a hot blonde chick who was into some creepy ass stuff. Not a fan of either. Then Chelsea Dagger became a song of nightmares for you in the 2010s.
You're really not trying to compare the 05 Hawks to the current slop, are you?The Hawks sucking majorly in 2005-06 went a long way to making that possible.
Don't play coy. Where do the best players in the League tend to come from?If you wereva Hawks fan, you would.
right?
You are a treat. Just one thing. Would Seth Jones be a much better player if AA was never signed? So long as Kyle Davidson has a job as GM...
Seriously, have you watched Seth Jones play recently?
Lebron, Aaron Rodgers(1 title), Shaq, Kris Bryant (1 title) Mark Messier

Hawks would be well on their way to picking 9th overall with like Patrick Kane, Dylan Strome, Alex DeBrincat, Brandon Hagel, Kirby Dach, Jake McCabe, an average prospect pool lead by Ryan Leonard if the Hawks followed his "advice".You are a treat. Just one thing. Would Seth Jones be a much better player if AA was never signed?
Yet outside of Bedard, what do the Hawks have to show for this "tank"?Don't play coy. Where do the best players in the League tend to come from?

8/15 you needed to tank to draft
3/15 you needed to still be bad and not close to playoffs to draft, but not full tank
4/15 not tied to being bad to draft
Proof?Hawks would be well on their way to picking 9th overall with like Patrick Kane, Dylan Strome, Alex DeBrincat, Brandon Hagel, Kirby Dach, Jake McCabe, an average prospect pool lead by Ryan Leonard if the Hawks followed his "advice".
Seth was finished once he got that contract. You are a treat. Just one thing. Would Seth Jones be a much better player if AA was never signed?
24 points in 14 gamesNot tragic, but losing a 2nd and a 1st, essentially paying a cap hit of almost 10m the first two years, then 7.5m the next 5 years... for a guy who likely gives you around 40-50 points a season... is lunacy.
