I know I've said this a bunch, but the Hawks have so much room to bring up their goal differential and still pick Top 5. Looking around the League there really aren't many "tanky" teams and basically everyone of last year's bottom feeders but San Jose has some reason to believe there will be improvement, maybe Columbus too given the tragedy that befell that team. Philadelphia is probably the only team that will go from "no playoffs, but not tanky" to potentially tanky this year.
Right. Just look at that standings now. Hawks are still amongst the worst and it’s not like Edmonton and Nashville are going to stay in the gutter all season.

I think we’ll win the lottery this year

I think this year it is still only the Sharks that will be no doubt worse than the Hawks.

From there I think you then move to the next tier of suck which will include Chicago, Columbus, Montreal, and Anaheim.

I don't see a world in which the Hawks pick any worse than 6 or 7.

I won't speculate on teams getting worse at the TDL as it's fair to assume all of these teams will try to sell at least a player or two.

I'm getting impatient waiting for the GOAT Frank Nazar

When's the earliest people are expecting him to be up?
First injury to a significant forward. Most likely suspects are Hall or Athanasiou (given their injury history) and then there is always the posibility of Bedard skating his face into a stationary pylon again. I would guess we'll see Nazar within a month.

Maybe Kaapo Kakko for a pennies on the dollar price as a trade candidate? NYR should be in a tight cap crunch. Maybe could break out if given a bigger role. 6'2, 206 RW.

I'm sure they'd only trade him for some NHL help and not some 2nd rounders. Maybe we can send Murphy retained 50% + one of our useless vet forwards their way. I'd rather trade for Kakko than get a 2nd and 3rd (at best) for Murphy at the deadline

Rangers aren't trading him for pennies.

You'd have to move Korchinski.
Look at their cap for next year now with Lafreniere signed, and figure what happens if they sign Shesterkin as well. There's not a lot of room to play with. Kaapo is an Arb-Eligible RFA not far from UFA. Not much to spend on a third liner there.

That’ll be real interesting if they end up winning it. Maybe Hagens ends up blowing everyone else out of the water, but I’m just not sure you take another sub-5’11” forward. This team needs size, especially in that top 6.
