You can only walk away from it if it’s 4.5 million or more. What Raddysh could potentially get, we couldn’t walk away from.

The bigger problem is he’s not an NHL player. Never mind 20 goals, he’s not on pace for 20 points this year. His outlier year he was stapled to PP1 with Kane, that will never happen again. We don’t need that garbage on the team next year.

You could honestly find a min league player in free agency who can produce more than Raddysh.
He's definitely an NHL player. Regardless of whether a league min waiver UFA nothing signing is maybe as good as Raddysh, he's better than the waiver fodder the Hawks have had. Can kill penalties, career .33 PPG guy. People are too rash to call every 3.5 line player an AHL player. If he were not an NHL player, then the Hakws could have found better on waivers. Instead you get the Rem Pitlick and Zach Sanfords of the world.

EP40 allegedly has had an 8 year $12m offer on the table all year. I think he just doesn’t want to play in Canada but regardless I don’t want to pay that much for a player so unproven in the playoffs. Heel turn from my previous posts, I know. Cap space is so vital however and that seems like a risky deal

Isn't now a good time to lock guys in though?

Before the cap actually starts to rise once the Covid escrow debt is cleared out.

#1 free agent =Sam Reinhardt who will assist for the moon after monster season on Florida..would Hawks dare blow up the lengthy timeline forvtge rebuild to add him @probably $13 milkion+?
MaybecIF they do not get Celebrini in tge kitty?

If they get Celebrini obviously they will go cheap with the yutes for several years and still rely on drafting and the slow rebuild with shorter term vet ufa's added in.

Other top potential forward ufas :

Jonathan Marchessault age 33= 3-4yr contract probably in $6.5 range ?

Tevo Terravainen =age 29 ...probably wants long term deal 7 year@$8 million +

Jake Guentzel and Elias Lindhilm also will go ufa..

I can see Hawks tryingto add 2 of these 5 potential free agents.
Whether they go 1 C+1W or 2W ,not sure ...bit it may depend again on whether they get Celebrini..

Other forward additions will come from from the pipeline of Hawks draftees and,/or from Europe or NCAA fee agents.

(Colin Graf and Jacob Quillan of Quinnipiac would be 2 of the top NCAa free agentscif they leave for the pros after this their Jr. Year season...Big Center and Cornell Captain GABRIEL
SEGER is 24 years oks and will have no more college eligibility after this season...so he will definitely be turning pro and is one ofvthevtop faceoif guys in the NCAA and over a lintca game plus good in all 3 zones.

So there is lots of opportunity for the Hawks to improve up front with 2-5 additions not even counting anyone from the pipeline...

IF THEY get Celebrini he goes right to 2C and we have a Bedard-Celebrini 1C and 2C filled..so in that case emphasis will be on improving the talent at wing.

However they still coukd try adding a 3C
rsoeciakky if hecexcels defensivelyvandvon draws bit also has shown scpring ability.

As for help on D...expect Del Mastrobgetschis chance but coukd also try adding 1 ufa dman ..

BradycSjkei and Brett Pesce could be ufa this summer...
What I do not know is how quickly KD will try accelerating tgexre-build...

Either stick to the patch concept of adding less expensive vet players via freexagency plus a slow infusion of draftee yutes..or go with a less lengthy process because it is so depending for fans watching constant basement futility from an inferior lineup.

if I'm the Hawks, I'm not committing any trade capital to any player whose year of birth begins with "19"

That's just me though. Hate to say it, but I think another boring off-season is in order.

Re-sign Raddysh for nothing, re-sign Anderson for nothing, re-sign Reichel for peanuts, re-sign Guttman for peanuts. Renounce R. Johnson, renounce Entwistle. 50/50 on Katchouk but fine to re-sign/potentially waive or just renounce. Teply and Hardman can either sign one or two-way deals knowing they're in the AHL or going elsewhere.

Re-sign Vlasic to a 4 or 5 year deal, re-sign Phillips for peanuts, re-sign Crevier for peanuts.

Don't re-sign T. Johnson, Beauvillier, Blackwell or Sanford if not already traded. Pitlick, Seney, Gust can either sign one or two-way deals knowing they're in the AHL or going elsewhere.

Don't re-sign Tinordi, Zaitsev or Megna if not already traded.

Forwards (11):
Hall
Foligno
Dickinson
Athanasiou
Kurashev
Donato
Bedard
Raddysh
Anderson
Reichel
Guttman

Three spots - one for a prospect battle (inside track for Slaggert), one or two for a boring UFA, one or zero for Katchouk.

Defense (4):
Jones
Murphy
Vlasic
Korchinski

Two spots between Phillips, Crevier (either of whom can be waived at any point), Kaiser, Del Mastro, Allan, one for a boring UFA.

Maybe sign a boring backup Goalie and waive Soderblom.

Opening Combos subject to plenty of change:

Hall-Bedard-Kurashev
Reichel-Athanasiou-UFA
Foligno-Dickinson-Anderson
Slaggert-Donato-Raddysh
Guttman
UFA/Katchouk

Vlasic-Jones
Korchinski-Murphy
Phillips-UFA
Crevier

Mrazek
UFA

Another bad season that teeters on disaster with similar injury issues as this year, but with hopefully more guys rearing to go in the AHL when they are called upon, and that ideally can make many of those up top obsolete, with potential to be as soon as during the season.

On what planet is Nedeljkovic shown he's worth $5M per?

I can live with the rest, but would be surprised if Stephenson only signs a 3 year deal - even at $7M.

I don't think a left handed defenseman who is undersized is what Richardson or Davidson want on this team.
Defencemen for next season

SJones right
*rfa*AVlasic left
KKorchindki left
CMurphy right
*rfa*IPhillips left
*rfa*LCrevier right
WKaiser left
*rfa*FRoos left
EDel Mastro left
NAllan left

I wonder why are we signing Stephenson not to play center.

No to Kane, New era New heroes.

No to Myers, could just sign Megna

Stephenson is playing left wing at the moment for the Knights. Hes a guy that play 2C behind Bedard for sure especially if Celebrini isnt ready or is going to start on wing. If Celebrini is going to be a future Center like I believe he is....Start him at Center.

If we get Celebrini who cares about new heros or old heros. The tank did its job to get high end talent. If not Kane then get another older player who is high AAV low years can still skate and would like to be in Chicago. Duchene Marchessault Taranseko Teravainen Eberle

Myers is much much better then Megna

It may very well be the case. I am against this. Your leaving Bedard on an island for the 2nd straight year. That cannot happen IMO.

Stephenson and Marchessault are 1A and 1B FA priorities for me.

Both aren’t going to get crazy term and you can easily over pay via AAV for 3 years.

I wouldn’t go near any FA that wants like 6-7 years. It’s not time for that yet.

Nazar Stephenson Hall

(Celebrini obviously slides in at C if we get 1OA)

Thoughts on Schmaltz? 2 years left at $5.85M cap hit

Hawks have jack shit at RW and plenty of cap space, why would Schmaltz be available? Look at his actual contract costs

24-25 = $1.5M bonus + $5.95M salary
25-26 = $8.5M salary

Hawks will have well over $40M in cap space this offseason with Vlasic the only notable RFA in need of deal.

Sounds like perfect chance for Hawks to get a guy for very little cost asset wise (By taking on all that $) who can improve our NHL roster immediately and serve as bridge to when our higher end F prospects start making jump potentially to NHL

Schmaltz has a 10 team NTC but I imagine coming back to Chicago would be appealing especially to potentially play with Bedard/Celebrini (Hopefully)
