if I'm the Hawks, I'm not committing any trade capital to any player whose year of birth begins with "19"
That's just me though. Hate to say it, but I think another boring off-season is in order.
Re-sign Raddysh for nothing, re-sign Anderson for nothing, re-sign Reichel for peanuts, re-sign Guttman for peanuts. Renounce R. Johnson, renounce Entwistle. 50/50 on Katchouk but fine to re-sign/potentially waive or just renounce. Teply and Hardman can either sign one or two-way deals knowing they're in the AHL or going elsewhere.
Re-sign Vlasic to a 4 or 5 year deal, re-sign Phillips for peanuts, re-sign Crevier for peanuts.
Don't re-sign T. Johnson, Beauvillier, Blackwell or Sanford if not already traded. Pitlick, Seney, Gust can either sign one or two-way deals knowing they're in the AHL or going elsewhere.
Don't re-sign Tinordi, Zaitsev or Megna if not already traded.
Forwards (11):
Hall
Foligno
Dickinson
Athanasiou
Kurashev
Donato
Bedard
Raddysh
Anderson
Reichel
Guttman
Three spots - one for a prospect battle (inside track for Slaggert), one or two for a boring UFA, one or zero for Katchouk.
Defense (4):
Jones
Murphy
Vlasic
Korchinski
Two spots between Phillips, Crevier (either of whom can be waived at any point), Kaiser, Del Mastro, Allan, one for a boring UFA.
Maybe sign a boring backup Goalie and waive Soderblom.
Opening Combos subject to plenty of change:
Hall-Bedard-Kurashev
Reichel-Athanasiou-UFA
Foligno-Dickinson-Anderson
Slaggert-Donato-Raddysh
Guttman
UFA/Katchouk
Vlasic-Jones
Korchinski-Murphy
Phillips-UFA
Crevier
Mrazek
UFA
Another bad season that teeters on disaster with similar injury issues as this year, but with hopefully more guys rearing to go in the AHL when they are called upon, and that ideally can make many of those up top obsolete, with potential to be as soon as during the season.
