They underrated FUS. Also time for a 24-25 prospect thread?

I think the battle is Roslovic vs. youngster for 2LW and if a rookie shines it becomes Roslovic vs. the world (Carrier, Jost, Robinson, et al) for 3RW.On AG's after show this week, he said he doesn't think any of them will make the Canes roster now.
I would keep suzuki with the big club if he has a solid camp and preseason. give him a month or so of practicing with the team to gauge his readiness. if he's not ready, bring up jost.Jost seems like the kind of player that becomes his best self in a market like Raleigh and under a coach like Brind’Amour. I mean, not expecting him to live up to his lottery pick status, but I think he could end up bottom mainstay, just a hunch.
Personally, I think if a prospect is to make the team, it’ll be Blake. In limited viewings, I think he’s been the most impressive/NHL ready. I also don’t think it really matters if none of them make it. Carrier is bound to miss 20-30 games so at least one of them will be with the team a good chunk of the season.
Law of averages perhaps, but I'm more bullish re: the current defensemen list. My Over/under of being a regular on a future NHL roster is 4 (Nikishin and 2, 3, 4 tbd):The number of forward prospects we have right now that could competently fill any role on the team is one of those things that really make me roll my eyes at the people whining about how expansion will water down talent. Does the league really lose anything if there are more spots for these guys? Role players and skill guys alike, there are a bunch of guys who could step in and play in the NHL tomorrow but there just isn't room for them.
Now, if only we could rebuild our defensive pipeline. Apart from one rather notable exception, nobody there gives me much confidence.
In fairness, none of us had any idea what we had in Slavin and Pesce back when they were in the pipeline. And we over estimated what we had in Fleury and Bean. The number of forward prospects we have right now that could competently fill any role on the team is one of those things that really make me roll my eyes at the people whining about how expansion will water down talent. agree 100%. big reason why I think Suzuki could sneak onto the Canes as the 13th forward. let him accumulate to the NHL and see how he practices. same logic applies to 7th dmen which I believe will be Ty Smith.I think it's generally a good thing for the state of our team when it's hard-to-impossible for a youngster to crack a lineup out of camp. Giving Nadeau/FUS/Blake/Gleb prime top-6 minutes in the AHL is an ideal environment for them. Stars gave a similar treatment to Stankoven and Bourque, apparently to excellent results. If the Canes view FUS as a potential center, especially, a full season or two there becomes critical.
I mean I get it, I'd like to see us with another blue chip type on D to be really confident about things going forward, because even though I project Boom as a top pairing guy, Morrow is the next best we have and there's still some risk there even if he looks like a likely 2nd-3rd pair guy.The number of forward prospects we have right now that could competently fill any role on the team is one of those things that really make me roll my eyes at the people whining about how expansion will water down talent. For his development, he needs to play consistently at the senior level or play a full year in Chicago. We have a bunch of older guys that can fill in when needed.Blake will likely get 9 or so games on the roster although he may play in about 2-3 of them as 4LW and PP guy.
He needs to learn nhl speed and what that means for his 2 way play. Also being the likely first callup he needs to see how the guys prepare for a game and post game activities.
While true this wouldn’t be the first time we would have done this. Also missing 4 AHL games won’t be that badFor his development, he needs to play consistently at the senior level or play a full year in Chicago. We have a bunch of older guys that can fill in when needed.
Yup but he is still very young. Woulda’t be the right path either for him or the parent club (that is a playoff team). No doubt Tulsky will do the right thing here. While true this wouldn’t be the first time we would have done this
Seeing how the big club is for 15 days isn’t going to stunt his growthYup but he is still very young. Woulda’t be the right path either for him or the parent club (that is a playoff team). No doubt Tulsky will do the right thing here.
Is there any indication that Artamonov would be delayed in coming over like Nikishin has been?
