I'll be honest, I'm not even postive Mikko is a 100pt guy on another team without Nate and Cale feeding him. And I wonder how much his floating would be tolerated by another coach then.
Rants would be a 90-100 pt player on most contenders and coaches would be just as tolerant. When you have that much talent, you just accept a player's flaw.

But I do think you'd see a different Mikko if he was expected to play 18 minutes a night instead of 23 minutes.

I'd really like to see that Mikko... playing either on our second line or for a team in the east this spring.

Yes, I think he would be. Big, rangy wingers with elite passing and shooting skills don't grow on trees. Put him on a team with a legit #1 center and a legit #1 blueliner and he'd thrive regardless.

I hate that this made me think of Mikko..
But that's not an issue because Mikko's not a center. Probably reason #1 as to why he didn't work out as a center.

I don’t catch any KHL games and am limited to stat watching. It’s likely tied to getting more powerplay time, but his total ice time has gone up almost 4minutes a night from the start of the season with an average of 17:13 over his last 7 games and 18:34 over his last 2. Hopefully this usage continues and allows for him to start putting up a few more points.

Trent Miner held the greatest goal scorer in the history of the world scoreless in his NHL debut. Clearly, he's the second coming of Patrick Roy.

I know this is tongue in cheek, but I actually didn’t mind his play. I think most young goalies are gonna have a shot just have a bit more velocity than they are expecting, but I didn’t think he looked any worse than Annunen.

This was posted and discussed in the Ritchie thread.

I would’ve preferred him to take it to the corner and grind it against the boards with his skates, you know, just kill off some clock.

Kid has a lot to learn.
It's as if he doesn't even read the COL PROSPECT INFO comments... No respect for his fans

He looked a bit tired, smart play would’ve been to dump it in and go for the change. These are the types of play you get away with in the juniors but not in the bigs.

Hockey News prospect issue ranks Callum Ritchie as the #73 player under 21 (includes graduated prospects and undrafteds). The team section has a write up on Max Curran. Point-a-game in the WHL… and 6’3”!

Jake Fisher is having a pretty strong start as a freshman at DU. 4G3A for 7 points in 11 games as a freshman is pretty decent, especially for a player whose big question mark at the draft was offense. It would be really nice if he could keep that up and build on it over the next few seasons.

It's DU so the argument is "well he has a lot of talent around him", but on the same token: he gottent a regular role competing with all that talent.
