With Hutson having so many options on the PP this team will score a whole lot

I think we play 1-3-1 powerplay.

Slafkovsky in front of the net
Laine the OV left
Suzuki on the other side wall
Caufield in the bumper
Matheson on D

Hutson will get his turn

Second unit
Dach down low
Newhook at bumper
Anderson/Gallagher in front
Hutson on D

I could see Dvorak/Guhle/Mailloux taking turns on the PP2.

With the addition of Laine , I would like to see
Hutson at the point
Caufield bumper
Laine in is office on the left
Slafkovsky in front of the net digging pucks
Suzuki half wall

On paper, that power play could be dynamite.
Laine, Hutson, healthy Dach should be one of top power plays in league. Those 3 in general is quite the shot in arm to team

Now with Laine on the team and Dach being healthy is there any chance Slafkovsky can stay where he played last season?

I am not really excited about the idea of having him standing in front of the net during PP.

The key to a good powerplay is movement but yes, Slaf would be the left shot one timer so he would shift from bumper, down low to half-wall consistently.

When Demidov will be here, we should run two PP units and let them compete for playing time. The last unit that scores starts the next powerplays, until the other unit scores. Nothing better than a little bit of internal competition to get the best of everybody.

Everytime I saw Caufield in the bumper spot, he was underwhelming. Him and Laine are left wall shooters IMO.

PP 1A:
DownLow: Suzuki
Left Wall: Caufield
Right Wall: Slaf
Bumper: Newhook
Point: Matheson

PP 1B:
DownLow: Dach
Left Wall: Laine
Right Wall: Demidov
Bumper: Roy
Point: Hutson

I have no worries, Slaf wants to win games and playing in front of the net will bring highest value to his team. He is good at it and he will get even better.
Our PP starts to look scary, even PP2 unit:
In front of the net: 1 Slaf, 2 Gally
Bumper: 1 Caufield, 2 Newhook
Left wall: 1 Laine, 2 Dach
Right wall: 1 Suzuki, 2 Roy
Quarteback: 1 Hutson, 2 Matheson

You bring Demidov and Mailloux in next year and we will be lethal.

Probably the first time since Kovy/Koivu left that we can run an actual two unit PP without wasting 45 seconds.

We also have the talent to run a Tampa 1-3-1.

Suzuki 3 right
Laine 3 left
Slafkovsky 1 low
Lane 1 high
Caufield 3 middle slot

Dach 3 left
Roy 1 low
Newhook 3 middle slot
Matheson 1 high
Guhle 3 right
