Caught a bit of the BU game last night. Lachance really has to work on his skating if he wants any chance at success when he turns pro.

Yeah, it's really the big piece of the puzzle. He's got some NHL quality traits, but without the improved skating it'll be hard to transfer those over.

So far:

Nicholl 12gp. 4-8-12 (2-7-9 ES) (2-1-3 PP) +6 24sog. 39.8% on faceoffs 98/39
O'Reilly 10gp. 4-4-8 (3-2-5 ES) (0-2-2 PP) (1-0-1 SH) +3 34sog. 56.8% on faceoffs 148/84

Nicholl is 2nd on the Knights in points, tied for 2nd in assists and 1st in +/-.
A little underwhelming for O'Reilly tbh but he's more of a two way guy than a big scorer so he likely won't put up big numbers even in junior.

As long as he becomes a solid 3C loaded with intangibles he is a great pick IMO. I see him hitting that at some point in the next 3 years. Nicholl on the flip side might have higher offensive potential. If he's a top 9 NHLer it would be a great pick.

It’s just great that we drafted a guy in the 7th round who is YOUNGER than the guy we drafted in the 1st, and he is outperforming him.
Thats a steal.

O'Reilly is far more pro ready due to his size and strength. I look at it as 2 potentially awesome picks. O'Reilly is Henrique's eventual replacement. Nicholl could be a cheap top 6 offensive option on his ELC.

Is he?
O’Reilly is listed at 6’1” and 180lbs and Nicholl at 6’ and 184lbs that’s pretty much identical size wise.

Maxim Berezkin extends his point streak to 10 games with an assist in the first period against SKA. Now up to 18 points in 22 games.

Up to 11 games/19 points now. Great posts by @Caser on the main Prospect forum about his play this year. He is tied for the scoring lead on Yaroslavl and is 7th in KHL scoring for players under 25, 15th overall. Gritsyuk, who everyone creams over, has just three more points.

We should be over the moon about this kid, he's got all the tools you'd want from a potential McDrai winger plus NHL size and strength. JJ/Bowman better do everything in their power to sign him, don't let there be any screwing around with this contract.
