Albin Sundin will fit right in on the Oilers blue line...he's the D mishandling the puck on the first goal in the video. Oiler legend Ty Rattie is the player stealing the puck from Sundin and scoring btw.

That right there is why right shooting defensemen play on the right.

There have been reports he was playing well which earned him more ice time.

Mistakes happen.

Yeah not saying anything about his overall performance based on one mistake. Still, it's a very Oiler mistake.

I just noticed Clattenburg missed two games this weekend. He left the Firebirds's Wednesday game and didn't return. A regular in the Flint Firebird thread said he hoped he was just winded, but obviously it was more.

Nicholl now 4-4-8 in seven games, great start and the kid just oozes the hockey smarts to match. Reminds me of a bit of prime Joe Pavs with his ability to make things happen around the net.

SOR at 2-3-5 in 5 games. Kind of getting outshone by Nicholl, undrafted Ethan Van Gorp (5 goals in 6 games) and Sam Dickinson on D. He's got the goods too, not concerned yet, but you always want to see big leaps in D+1 play and maybe he's still adjusting to the OHL after being up with us so long.

Wakely is putting up the offense (5 points/2 games) you expect of a 20 year old who was already over 100 points last season. 2 PPG is a good high water mark for him.

Nathan Day keeps pushing that GAA down, 2.49 in six games with a 4-2-0 record. His workload is going to be insane this year with Flint so hopefully they manage him right and give him some nights off here and there.

On the negative side of the ledger for our 2024 draft class, Bauer Berry has goose eggs in seven games along with a -3 rating. Muskegon is far from an offensive power house- they have one goal from their entire D and the team's leading scorer is a 16 year old with 5 points- but he should still be a bigger factor on paper being 6'3 200 lbs already and decent producer last year.

Also... can Eemil Vinni get in a game please? Not playing is not going to help his development. Maybe he should've come over in the CHL Import Draft instead of staying in Finland.

Didn’t Vinni get hurt?

It would be absolutely massive if we could turn one or two of these recent draftees into effective bottom six depth.

It's crazy how a team like Boston just churns out these depth pieces year over year, while we continue to see prospect turnover and guys getting priced out of Edmonton because the only way they stick is by offensive production.

Let's start churning out some guys that just aren't fun to play against.

We have to remember that SOR was 7th on his team for forward production last year m. Playing a very different role now.
