Word. These are the most dangerous people to try and rationalize with. They will make excuses no matter what. There is quite a few here.

Most reporters are hacks. There sales people with a communication degree.I’m more Sick and tired of these shitty Jays insiders. They never know squat. Scared to ask tough questions during press conferences.
All for a pretty penny. Dodgers payroll with not Dodgers talent.Jays probably do get Santader, if only because no other team is seriously mentioned recently.
Maybe they sign Alonso and Pivetta too.
That probably makes them a 85ish win team?
Atkins turns a perennial contending roster into a mediocre Frankenstein team.
Dude. People would have been rioting if they didn't do everything in their power to try and attract him here. The Straw trade was the right move. It sucks that we were led on and that it appears he was always going to the Dodgers, but this was the correct move for once.Feels like Sasaki's decision to go to Dodgers was determined quite some time ago while his agent went through the motions of an actual decision here. MLB has a problem.
The Straw trade is a mistake that requires termination. You don't make that trade unless you're 99% sure Sasaki signs. Coincidentally, Sasaki announces shortly after as his agent decided the charade had gone far enough. Cleveland, Shatkins previous stop, gets to dump salary . . . again. Only losers here are the Jays. Rogers needs to step in ASAP and fire Shapiro and Atkins because it can get worse.
I wasn't born yesterday, Jays are being taken for a ride(s). Other teams, agents, players are using them to facilitate signing elsewhere. In this case, the facade of not having a pre-arranged deal with Dodgers.Dude. People would have been rioting if they didn't do everything in their power to try and attract him here. The Straw trade was the right move. It sucks that we were led on and that it appears he was always going to the Dodgers, but this was the correct move for once.
I agree 100%There is no way Shatkins survives this is there? They would need to sign all 3 of Bregman, Alonso and Santander to even have any hope of saving themselves
The Straw trade was not the right move at all…. You don’t take on that much money for a minor league player without a guarantee that Sasaki was coming. It’s a fireable decision by Atkins. We’ve taken on over 100 million dollars on the payroll for basically Gimenez….. and we still haven’t signed Vladdy. This front office should’ve been fired years ago. We have a 200+ million payroll on a 80-84 win roster. And the payroll will continue to rise because Atkins has been a disaster at developing our farmDude. People would have been rioting if they didn't do everything in their power to try and attract him here. The Straw trade was the right move. It sucks that we were led on and that it appears he was always going to the Dodgers, but this was the correct move for once.
Exactly. That $14 million for Straw counts against the CBT as well.Feels like Sasaki's decision to go to Dodgers was determined quite some time ago while his agent went through the motions of an actual decision here. MLB has a problem.

Wrong.Dude. People would have been rioting if they didn't do everything in their power to try and attract him here. The Straw trade was the right move. It sucks that we were led on and that it appears he was always going to the Dodgers, but this was the correct move for once.

Unless the Jays are 1st in payroll, I don't want to hear that money isn't an issue. We could have gotten a useful player with that.
Well, if multiple people are telling you this, then a lightbulb should go off in your head. Lol.The same joke the other guy made….twice as funny second time.
Doesn’t change my opinion of the off-season that that they didn’t sign Sasaki. Woulda been a coup and a real franchise changer. But they didn’t, so move along.
The off-season still isn’t complete.
The issue is the simple minded folk that gang up on others. Some are ok though. These are the most dangerous people to try and rationalize with. They will make excuses no matter what. There is quite a few here.
The problem is he could have lined up the the trade contingent of Sasaki committing and didn't. He's an idiot plain an simple. Dodgers traded for more dollars after Sasaki committed what was Atkins thinking?I don't mind the Straw trade if they think there's a 99 % chance that Sasaki is coming but obviously the risk was bigger then they thought. I think Atkins should hold a press conference to explain to the fans what went wrong.
No. We just hear from the whiners. You'd be surprised. But you're probably not going to hear much from them right now.
