Rosenthal mentions Rangers and Cubs as well. It's definitely not down to two, although it's nice to get confirmation that other teams are out.
I still don't see any reason to think it'll be anyone other than the Dodgers or Padres.

I'm not necessarily gonna say I don't believe him given Rosenthal's reporting, it's just... this just makes him come off like more of an idiot, doesn't it?
It seems like he's really, really bad at his job if he had information about this and chose to just subtly hint about it on Twitter rather than writing something about it and directing people to read a breaking story on TSN. Like... how does he have a job if that's the direction he chooses to go?

I'm not saying were getting him but from what I've read he wants to be the big fish. That doesn't work in LA so we have a chance Padres scare me more then Dodgers right now for signing him. Crazy we have a chance though for him to be in Toronto this late in decision time gives us a real shot like he's deciding still and were right there !
Unfortunately I’m not sure we’ll hear if and when we’ve been eliminated, given how our FO operates. I expect we’ll be publicly seen as a finalist, and he’ll eventually sign with the Dodgers or Padres.

They met Soto in the Dodgers locker room in front of a stall with a Soto nameplate.
I mean, this is the ultimate glass half full….but, if they know they’ve got a legit chance at Sasaki, then the bats are the other dominoes.
If you believe, as I do, they’re holding onto ~45 mil to spend and are circling around a starter and bat combo, then the addition of Sasaki changes that a lot. I mean, his salary is gonna be a minimum anyway. Suddenly you can invest that 45 mil in two bats.
It’s a bit more logical, and easy to shoot down, but it makes sense.
This kid has a chance to be the best free agent a Toronto team has signed…ever.

It would be cool if Mitchell was onto something and reporting legit information. Unfortunately as per his suggestion everything he posts on twitter is just a fun outlet to troll and have some fun. If only anyone had some real info they'd be willing to stand by.
Even worse. He didnt even attempt to visit the city. He knew toronto wasnt a legit destination.

They gotta go aggressively at both Santa and Bregman. Maybe even trade Vladdy if you're not gonna sign him, and sign Alonso. Jays need assets! No waiting anymore, if you have to overpay you have to overpay. Even with Hoffman, they were waiting it out. I don't understand what they are trying to do.
Both of those teams were offering him quite a bit more money.
