Jon Morosi the same guy who said Ohtani was on his way to Toronto thinks Soto signing will be in the next 10 days...

Highest bid + play with Vlad is a great offer.

I can’t say if it’s enough or not but more money in Toronto to play with Vlad is a very attractive offer at the very least.

What I’m hearing in MLB free agency about potential Juan Soto dominoes and more - The Athletic

The outfield market

Anthony Santander and Teoscar Hernández, ranked ninth and 11th on The Athletic’s Top 40 Free Agent Big Board, currently are on hold while the Soto negotiations continue.

The five known Soto bidders are the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Like Soto, both Santander and Hernández rejected qualifying offers, so any team that signs them will be subject to draft-pick compensation. But most if not all of the Soto losers figure to pursue them. And other teams also will be in the mix.

.....................

Get the idea?

The Soto Dominoes are going to fall. It’s just a matter of time.

We seriously need to start doing something with our bullpen. It lost us a ton of games last year and we have gotten much worse.
I don’t believe a single reliever of relevance has signed with ANYONE yet so probably not time to panic. That said, you’re right, our pen needs at minimum two impact arms added plus at least one lefty.

I expect them to add 3 or 4 arms. Green, Swanson, Yariel(when they add a starter) are locks. Burr and Little are likely but both have options. I can see them doing 2 or 3 FA/trades, then grabbing a guy in the rule 5 and have him compete with Burr, Little, Danner and Nance for the other 2 or 3 spots.

640 for Soto is batshit crazy but f*** it, if the opportunity is there, take it. Ask questions later.

I still think he ends up in Boston but it definitely sounds like there's at least a punchers chance he ends up with the Jays

The Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, and Toronto Blue Jays are believed to have made offers north of $600 million to Soto, while the New York Yankees are in the $550-million range, a source told Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media.

Why can't Toronto be more of a destination as a city? Just because you have to cross the border all the time you have to overpay free agents? As a city, it's very much on par with Chicago, Boston, NYC.
1. People think Canada=cold
2. Taxes are high
3. Old stadium
4. There is more travel time involved with playing out of Toronto.
