I think Steichen might be trying to scare Richardson. Slap across the face to wake him up and get him to understand the gravity of the situation. That he is already playing for his career. I wouldn't be surprised to learn Richardson maybe doesn't get that and needs it.

QB is the most important position. Need and expect a level of maturity. Don’t think AR has that now. Whether he figures that out or not who knows. But he should realize how quickly nfl teams move off QBs even those drafted in the top 5.

Jets dumped Darnold after 3 seasons. SF dumped Lance at the start of year 3. AZ dumped Rosen after 1 season. Carolina benched Young as well by game 3 this season. Z Wilson was benched on and off in NYJ early.

If he doesn’t show what Indy expects they will move off him.

Teams need to stop drafting project QBs early. Especially those with minimal experience. Nfl is not the place to for him to be getting that. Should have gotten more college experience.

McCarthy and Maye were not and would not be day 1 starters with 2 years of starts in college. It’s a hard position.

Oh yeah. He's a 72 year old doing the Instagram boyfriend thing.
He's actually 69 but yeah not much difference. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this though, the guy's an absolute tool.

Edit - my bad, I just assumed we were talking about Mark Davis. I wouldn't say Belichek is a tool but that picture is cringey.

Belichek now enjoying the calmness of not coaching and actually relaxing.
He's doing sports panel shows, he's giving his opinions on game planning.

He does have a career outside of football, maybe he should venture.

That was pretty obvious in the way he admitted to being tired. There was no malice or callout to it. Just a dude being honest. You could tell from his demeanor he didn't realize the weight of what he was saying.

That actually makes sense. Remember, he tried to use the "AR-15" nickname, didn't realize the connotations behind it, and when he did, he was horrified, and asked people not to use it. It was a while back, while he was at Florida, but I still remember it. I don't think he's a bad kid at all. I don't even think he's a dumb kid. Just naive as hell, and it makes sense.

If he matures a bit more, I think he could be an excellent quarterback. This Rams fan wouldn't even mind taking a shot on him if Indy, for whatever reason, gives up on him completely.

The Colts had to make the QB change because stepping out of the game because Richardson lost the QB room.
The room also already knew who gave them a better chance to win. He’s not showing enough progress to keep being patient.

I’d have to look it up, but you’d be hard pressed to find young QB’s who got benched in year 2 and made it in the league.

Problem is his position. Can afford to be a bit immature as a Wr, RB, DE, CB etc. but, if you are the QB or MLB the guy making the calls for that side of the ball? No, you can’t.

That is something that the teams selecting need to be aware of and get him up to par asap, on top of the on field football stuff.
