That fourth line needs some work.
Macewen can not be a regular on this team. Gotta be a league minimum forward that upgrades that bottom line.
To everyone and anyone putting MacEwen in their lineup. There are far more productive NHL caliber options for the fourth line than him that the team can fill in house or can be cheaply acquired through the free market. Are you speaking to us or to Travis?
I'm not a huge fan but MacEwen has a history with Green and might therefore get a longer look.

Yes, I believe he's penciled in as the 12th or 13th forward going into camp.Is there a chance this Jenik fella we got for Sokolov could crack the lineup on the 4th line?
WE NOT MAKING ITOkay Adrianopolous - Y or N:
Tkachuk - Stuetzle - Batherson
Greig - Norris - Giroux
Perron - Pinto - Amadio
Highmore - Gaudette - MacEwen
Ostapchuk/Jarventie when back
Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - Jensen
Kleven - Bernard-Docker
Hamonic
Ullmark
Forsberg
I am ok with Jensen as 3rd pair RD; this leaves a big hole in the top 2 RD. JBD and Hamonic are not able to fill that hole.We need another 3rd liner and a quality 3rd line LHD. I'm OK with JBD as the 3rd string RHD.
Unfortunately they have contracts courtesy of you-know-who.McEwen and JBD should not be on the roster.
They are both buryable contracts. Jensen is a definite 2nd pair not 3rd pair.I am ok with Jensen as 3rd pair RD; this leaves a big hole in the top 2 RD. JBD and Hamonic are not able to fill that hole.

Meh, just put Kleven in there. No need to dumpster dive when he needs to get his feet wet anyway.Tkachuk - Pinto- Batherson
Perron- Stu- Giroux
Crookshank- Greig - Amadio
Gregor- Ostapchuk- MacEwen
Sanderson - Zub
Chabot - Jensen
[UFC Bargain Bin] - JBD
Ullmark
Forsberg
I'm just assuming Norris isn't healthy to avoid being disappointed and Kleven, as good as he is, is a rookie. I'm hoping he is good enough to outplay whatever bargain bin FA we sign.
Staios indicated that is the plan.Meh, just put Kleven in there. No need to dumpster dive when he needs to get his feet wet anyway.
I feel we might have to in order to make sure JBD/Hamonic stay as 7th defenders. A 3rd pairing defender that can play both sides would help with development for both Kleven and JBDMeh, just put Kleven in there. No need to dumpster dive when he needs to get his feet wet anyway.
We have extremely high expectations for an organization with extremely low output.Jensen was a top 4 Dman on a team that actually made the playoffs, but apparently not top 4 quality for this team according to some here.
It is very clear we still need a 4th liner and a bottom pairing rhd. Gudas would be my favourite option at D but not very realistic.Tkachuk - Stützle - Batherson
Norris - Pinto - Giroux
Perron - Greig - Amadio
Crookshank - Gregor - MacEwen
Ostapchuk (probably in the AHL)
Sanderson - Zub
Chabot - Jensen
Kleven - Hamonic
JBD
Ullmark
Forsberg

Who is out there that we could realistically sign or trade for?
Answer is obviously # 2 imo. No debate. For those that argued our roster is worse, CiH put up the opening night roster and compared it to the expected roster:
Which would you rather start the year with (lol at having to start the year a man short because Dorion can't manage the cap)?

Agree on ostapchuk likely being fine on 4th line, not so sure about mcEwen..I think Ostapchuk steps up and is a good 4th liner pretty early in the season.
As for bottom pairing RD I think we just need a bottom pairing D that can compete with the rest of our D. I think sending out Kleven-JBD is asking fro trouble. Sending out Kleven - Hamonic is probably worse.
I don't know who the solution is but I think we need another experienced D who can still play 40-50 games a year at least. And I don't think Hamonic is that guy.
