They started out hot and have been very average since then.

Vincent doesn't impress me one iota.
Vincent is from the same school of coaching as Micheal Therrien who is enjoying a massive hockey coaching career...NOT.

The days of screaming and punishing is so 50's that even moderate Stalins like Julien is rendered to assistent coaching.

Watching Vincent "punish" Mailloux by stapling to the bench when he's most needed is not coaching in 2025. It's about using his mistakes as teachable moments. Behind closed doors. Not establishing punisment standards...or making examples of players.

In no way do i support Mailman playing stupid with a side of stupid. He's a young player showing fustration and anger where he needs to be cool and smart. X has learned that but then, he's playing for MSL, not MTHead V2.

This is all going in the wrong direction....

Vincent has already discussed Mailloux and what the plan is for him. Google the article. They originally saw Mailloux as a number 1 PP guy but with the rise of Hutson they want him focused on his own zone.
Besides, MSL did the same thing with Slaf and Arber when he’s benched them in the past. Vincent is not doing anything that the organization doesn’t want him to do.

Wow. Some of you are really creating some conspiracy theories here. How many of you actually watch Laval games?

You think I made the comments about the game without watching the game?

1...The difference is when X missed games, he was working on his issues directly with a coach.

2...I have not seen MSL benching someone who he needs just to punish him. Rockets were down either 2-0 or 3-0 when the opposition got a penalty then ANOTHER penalty and we were 5 on 3. Mailman is the top offensive defenseman on the team with the hardest shot and is very good with distribution. He had two goalposts including a breakaway before this.

You would know all this if you actually watched the game instead of making a stupid comment about conspiracy theories.

Looks like an ad for a teenagers hockey themed TV series :slaugh:

Tuch is the alpha bad boy but his gf cheats on him with the pretty boy

Beck is the pretty boy with untapped upside 📈

Mailloux has a dark secret 🙊

Flo is a sidekick but he saves the day at the last minute 🌠

I’ve watched pretty much every Laval game since the franchise started and have watched the Habs for about 45 years. I’m no expert but I think I’m somewhat familiar.

And you’d know that BOTH Slaf and Arber HAVE BEEN benched for playing poorly if YOU actually watched the games instead of insulting people. Anyone on this board will back me up that MSL has benched players.

Newhook is 23 years old, he's far from a 4th line player. He can play anywhere in the top 6 and fit in just fine. Do you love draft picks that much?
Oh I don' tknow....I thought that the guy we love the most was a draft pick...a 62nd draft pick. And anywhere in a top 6 role? For real? Have you watched the games? This guy doesn't have the vision nor the finish to be a succesful top 6 player. Maybe, yeah, I could give you the guy that skates really really fast with some heavy forecheck on a 3rd line. But that's it.

Newhook is not a 4th line level player. Have you listened to MSL talk about him?
Yeah. I've also listen MSL talking about Pezzetta saying he was a pro too. It doesn't change that Newhook has proven he's not top 6 on a great team. Maybe a 3rd if you want.

Have you watched any of the games? He fit in just fine with Suzuki and Caufield, he didn't get many points but the line was still very dangerous and he contributed to the play. Put down the stat sheet and watch some hockey. Yeah Hutson was a draft pick, what is your point? Most draft picks are total busts and we already have a pile of draft picks. Are you ready to give up on a guy at 23 just because he isnt developing at your imaginary pace? You go collect some draft picks and let the team compete for the playoffs.

Newhook contributed so much that he's off the line. We all know that the team hates when players do their job. Watch the games if you think that Newhook is a better player than Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Dach, Laine and Demidov. He does not have the finish to be top 6. That's if you want a winning team. Point about draft picks? Point is that if you want to WIN, you need your draft picks. You can't build a team solely through trades. And even when you do, a trade comes BECAUSE you have picks and players from the draft you can trade.

Reality check is that Newhook was NOT worth a 1st and a 2nd. Dvorak was also not worth a 1st and a 2nd. Every single of those players are STILL NHL'ers, but their value was NOT what we gave out.

It's so easy to diss draft picks AFTER we had fill the team with tons of them. Yet, chances are to move to the next step of REALLY being a top team, we will have to trade kids and draft picks. By the way...we have 2 1st rounders coming up.....you want to trade them?

First of all players get moved around for a lot of reasons, second of all no one said he was better than those players. I said he could play in the top 6 and fit in just fine which is what he can do and has done, so you're just wrong and your strawmans don't change reality.

He's still developing, he's 23 years old and he has been in the top 6 on the hottest team in the league. I guess you're just wrong again?

Yeah we have lots of draft picks like I said, it's time to develop players. You can cry and stomp your feet all you want but the management is probably more interested in developing what they have and making a push for the playoffs than playing NHL 2025 Draft Manager. I haven't said anything about making trades, you're the one crying about a 23year old that is still developing.

Please tell me what he has developed since he was acquired. Another thing that is strange in these parts is that we are always more ready to claim a player from other teams is a bust at 22 yet we are still talking about development for a 23 for our team....The ONLY thing keeping him in the lineup is one thing...speed. Let's hope he develops everything else.

Well said, there are way too many video game level opinions around here.

Development does not happen in a straight line, do you understand this concept? He can be playing worse this year than the last and still be on his path to improving. Like I said he is a capable top 6 player and he still has room to grow. He's not playing great and his stats show his finish isnt there yet but some guys take longer to develop than others. I sure as f*** wouldn't trade him for a pick during our run to the playoffs that is the worst idea i've heard.
