I want him either on Wright or McCann's wings, probably our best shooters and he's a good playmaker and net front presence.
McCann plays on the wing with Beniers and that is the line I feel may be the best fit for Kakko. I think both the Wright and Beniers lines could work out.I want him either on Wright or McCann's wings, probably our best shooters and he's a good playmaker and net front presence.
Agree- I didn't mean that McCann should center, just that I want him on the same line as McCann. I agree that the Beniers or Wright lines currently would be better.McCann plays on the wing with Beniers and that is the line I feel may be the best fit for Kakko. seattle will have an interesting problem once ebs gets back on and i am assumed its after the deadline so we would at least be making one or two trades (tanev and/or gourde) so having the cap space wont be an issue hopefully, however, who exactly is the player that gets pushed to the 4th line.
I think he will be completely ineffective on that fourth line though. I see Kartye-Gourde-Tanev being a much more effective 4th line. I know Kartye has not been putting up points but he is part of the cycle that works so well on that 4th line.Burakovsky. He sure isn’t earning playing time.

If it were me, I would basically be healthy scratching Burakovsky.

I mean, Kakko and Bjorkstrand play super similar games and pairing both with Wright would just increase that and also help Wright learn defensive responsibility- Tolvanen wouldn't be a bad choice either though, as he's another young player who could mesh real well and kid lines generally tend to do pretty well when given the opportunity and have a decent leash. Think Bjorkstrand does better elsewhere in the line up anyways but we have quite a logjam on the wings.I'm not ready to break up Wright and Bjorkstrand. One, they've been solidly outscoring opponents. And two, this is Wright's opportunity to learn that forecheck and cycle game, let's keep him going on those lessons from the Maestro. FWIW Wright has been much better with Bjorkstrand than without him. You can say the same for his time with Tolvanen, maybe I'm not giving Tolvy enough credit.

Right. I'd be happy with either. Wright/Bjorkstrand/Kakko or Wright/Tolvanen/Kakko. But Bjorkstrand and Kakko play very similar games a lot of the time so I don't think you would potentially miss much by swapping Bjorkstrand out for him, at least in the cycling forecheck department.Bjorkstrand would be fine, at least with Beniers, so far he hasn't looked much better in the Stephenson vortex than anyone else has. But the connection so far with Wright is the top line on the team right now, it's working better than any line we've seen this year.
