Saying the team would be better if Dostal gets more starts due to Gibson’s appendectomy isn’t saying he’s happy about it.

Especially if you exclude, "it's addition by subtraction," and "Just not convinced he's a good goalie anymore at all."

If Gibby isn't good anymore "at all", then it's to cynically rationalize gifting Dostal more games to play while not understanding Dostal can't play all 82 games. Hence, me identifying that stance is a Pyrrhic victory. I.e. "Dostal for the win, but who plays when Dostal isn't playing?"

At this point, it's better that Gibson has a significant 'off ice' training injury where he is out for the season. We would be able to have even more cap space and would be able to help a contender like Nashville add Fowler/Vatrano on the cheap for a bigger return. Gibby frequent minor injuries are more annoying than anything else at this point.
First, saying that's its better for him to suffer a season ending injury is pretty pathetic. There is not liking him and then there's that. Secondly, the ducks are 2 mil above the cap floor. Why would they need to clear cap space?

Celebrating an illness or injury is wrong, thinking the team might benefit if the next guy up is better isn’t. BTW, no one thinks Dostal is playing 82 games, that’s a ridiculous assertion.

Gibson being Injured again just tanked his trade value. No sense in trading him now unless he demands a trade
What trade value?

31 years old, 3 years left at 6.4m AAV, two consecutive seasons below 900sv%, his last good season was in the 18-19 season.

You could pick up an NHL/AHL tweener goaltender to give you the same level of production that Gibson provides at a fraction of the cost.

Well I meant whatever value he had is down the drain

We have a bunch of babies on our team... WTF did he do to get injured? Hes played in one game.. Give a fking break.. This team needs to grow some already. Sick of this shit.
Blocked a shot, got tripped, fell awkwardly into the boards, got fallen on, you know, all the usual ways players get injured in practice on what’s literally a daily thing league wide.

If you can figure out a way to assign blame to injuries, I'm all for this. But you can't.
Yes you can... Preparing the players for the contact they will receive is a major part of it. They need to strengthen parts of the body so they can withstand more impact. Also rest is another major part of injury prevention. If you keep smashing players their bodies will break down and not recover leading to higher injury risk

Obviously the current staff tries to do all of this. My questions for you would be: how do you evaluate which training staffs are the best around the league? Do you simply sort by man games lost? How can you really tell that the Ducks do so much worse than other teams?

Well you can look at how bad our injuries are compared to other teams. If its worse then its likely our staff arent as good. Also the type of injury could be an indicator as some are easier to prevent than others

You’re a vet, why don’t you fix these ducks up?

While I agree it is difficult to assign blame, I do find myself wondering if warming up, listening to Tony Robbins for 40 mins, and then having a practice is good for players muscles.

I also know this team has had a lot of injuries over the years and there are other teams that don't seem to have the same amount of injuries. Not all training/strength/conditioning/medical staffs are the same.

A couple of things:

1. While it was stupid to organize practices that way, it sounds like Cronin is no longer doing it.
2. Is there any data that the Ducks have more man-games lost than other teams over the years? There very well might be, but otherwise this seems like confirmation bias.
2b. And even if there was data showing the Ducks have higher injury rates, is that legitimate evidence that the Ducks' training staff is bad or is it bad luck?

Barring some sort of smoking gun (e.g. multiple players coming out and saying the training staff rubbed their quads with dandelion leaves before each workout to help ward off injury demons), there really isn't a way to assign blame for injuries. The Lyubushkin comments were alarming, but it sounds like that has changed, and you seem to be talking about longer than Cronin's tenure anyway.
