Looking at next years roster we have roughly 70.6M with everyone who's already signed and Suter's buyout.

I think you have to move stank/borque + dumba. its also 95.5 mil cap next season. you can fit him if you sign guys to something like
Johnson 8
dob 8.5
benn 3.75
borque 1.75 1 or 2 years
nils 2.2
then 6ish split between guys like blackwell dadanov and a guy from ahl (petersson stranges ect)



If you move bourqe instead of stank you get more cap space. Its placeholder bc we dont know what the trade would look like. All indications is that dobson isn't even wanting a trade. Given dobson is still very young moving bich is actually not terrible, the dcore would still remain very young you are not mortgaging the future.

I still think karlsson with max retainment makes the most sense given we don't want to move bich borque or stank.

You need an aggressive management group (Vegas) for this type of move, especially with where we are in the standings.

He's not getting traded. Teams don't trade 70p dmen that are only 25, with RFA status.
And if they do get traded your giving up a player like Johnston, not Stankoven or Bourque.
Let alone getting rid of garbage like Dumba in the same move

Yeah I’m with you on this. With that logic, we should be seeing Miro as a 70pt guy too just because he hit that marker once.

Dobson is great but he 100% can be had in a deal that does not include Johnston.

I usually take this as meaning Nill is kicking the tires and looking into it, as opposed to a deal being imminent.

Generally it seems like Nill is exploring every possible option at acquiring a legit top 4 RHD. The prices have obviously been extremely high and balked at, as evidenced by no deals (not just by Nill but anyone) being made.

And that is why Savard is going to be the guy. I doubt Nill would even trade for Jones let alone Dobson.

Jones and Dobson will be tricky with our cap next season, but its possible. I don't think Jones will cost that much also, just comes down to his cap hit fitting in

I would love to see Nill pull it off. Hope Jones pulls a Miller and says he only wants Dallas. Vancouver got the screwed in that trade. I think jones would do wonders on the back end and maybe get this team over the top. I think they can fit his contract. Hope dumba goes back as well or just goes somewhere else.

Jones' cap hit is 9.5? Gross. If Chicago retains enough to make it a good or even fair contract, I imagine they will want value similar to what the Isles will want for Dobson.

I can't imagine them wanting to retain 4 or 5 million.
