It is truly remarkable10+ years now, honestly
Eichel and Reinhart were supposed to save that team. Those drafts were 10 years ago.

No interest in any of those really. If that is the best they can do then just ride what you got.The Flames won't be moving Andersson and Kadri while they're a bubble team unless they need a shakeup or dollars moved. It makes zero sense.
I think you're more likely to see Zucker, Nelson, Palmieri, Nyquist or Dvorak moved.
Maybe they could acquire Bjorkstrand. And I'd really like Tuch but I think that's not going to happen.
Maybe they'll get Jason Dickinson back.
What would he cost. Not interested in giving up much for him. Would rather a young player.Any interest Patrick Kane? He still has amazing passes and plays RW. Robertson and Hintz could use someone with that skill. As could the PP.
Teams with game breakers don't give them up.
I can’t imagine Kane will cost a ton. He is having a down year. Of course that could be cause he plays for Detroit and they are not good. What would he cost. Not interested in giving up much for him. Would rather a young player.

True but I’m willing to be he produces more than what Bourque and stankoven are giving right now. He's also just old and has recently had some major surgeries. Could just be the end of the road for him.
He wouldn't cost much but I'm not sure he actually wants to go anywhere. He's got an NTC and given his age and palmares chasing cups may not be a priority of his anymore.I can’t imagine Kane will cost a ton. He is having a down year. And yet, Calgary gave up Tkachuk and Buffalo gave up Eichel. It will happen again, Jim Nill just needs to make sure he's at the front of the line this time.
You don’t think the Stars won the Seguin tradeTkachuk took two roster players and a 1st to obtain, and very disenfranchised Eichel took a roster player and a 1st.
And I don't think Calgary expected Huberdeau to crap the bed as much as he has.
I mean, we can go look at the Panarin trade from Chicago to CBJ for Saad. Or O'Reilly for Berglund, Sobotka and Tage Thompson (and a 1st!)
Dallas hasn't really struck a trade like JT Miller or Buchnevich or even a Mark Stone where teams turned long shots into big scores. Not in a long time, and the last time, honestly, was the Seguin trade and even then I feel like we didn't win it.
Sometimes it is very much Nill scraping by on NHL scraps, like Suter, Duchene, Dadonov, Lyubushkin, Dumba, ... hell even Steel and Marchment.
Still just massive consistent roster holes that Nill hasn't filled very well.
How dare youNHL scraps, like Suter, Duchene, Dadonov, Lyubushkin, Dumba, ... hell even Steel and Marchment.
Trade winners usually get the best player, so when we got Seguin for spare parts it was a great trade by Nill.Tkachuk took two roster players and a 1st to obtain, and very disenfranchised Eichel took a roster player and a 1st.

I'd frame it another way. Every team has roster holes. It's an intentional side effect of the salary cap. Gary Bettman wants every team to have weaknesses. Please name "consistent" roster holes he has failed to fill?
Dallas lost the Seguin trade, what an insane take
Ok, a couple deep playoff runs and no hardware to speak of? I mean, sure, he probably made some 16 year old girls happy but man.
I didn't say we lost the trade. From a hockey fan standpoint, I doubt it. From a business standpoint, killed it, way to go Jimmy.
What do you mean by hardware? Cups? You can't mean Cups.Ok, a couple deep playoff runs and no hardware to speak of? I mean, sure, he probably made some 16 year old girls happy but man.

In the seasons following the trade, Seguin finished top ten in goal scoring four times (two of those were top five). It was a better run than Modano ever had.
It's one of the best trades in Stars history by any measure.
