With injuries to Seguin and Marchment and the retirement of Pavs, we have lost one full scoring line, and our scoring is down. Mavs and Stank haven't started scoring yet to make up for any of it.

As always, we could use a depth defensemen, or better yet, one more true top 4, like we did when we traded for Tanev last year.

Really? I like your team. What are the needs?

We need someone who can take over a game/shift. Not sure if any of those types are available, but we need our own Eichel type move like Vegas did.

Barzal would be one of those ideal potential targets but not sure if hes available or if we even have the pieces to make a move like that

We also need another top 4 dman too so idk what we will do

I’m starting to think a top 4 D (ideally RHD) is necessary. DeBoer needs to lower Miro’s minutes so he is not worn out come playoffs.

Got it, feel like you guys had gamebreakers enough. Can't see Barzal being available in selling terms, maybe as a 1 for 1 type deal.

We have a few of those guys, and frankly, when all healthy, they took turns being the go to guy. They still do, but we are down a few of our best players.

Our GAA isn't terrible, and Otter has not always been on top form, so our D cannot be that bad, but I agree the right player would be an upgrade over Dumba and Smith. I am counting on Liam being here for the playoffs.

Stars have one of the best defenses in the league and thats with our goaltending not allways looking that sharp . Stars and Kings are the only teams that have not surrendered 100 goals in total yet. Part of it is the Finland trip but at this point thats barely noticeable anymore in the games played

What the team needs most is at least 1 if not 2 guys who can reliably put the puck in the net

You never know...
This forum has been saying that line for years.

I remember back after the 2022 playoffs where Otter had that great series...We were all like, 2-3 seasons and this team will be at its true contending peak. That should be right now.

Saying in "1 to 2" years feels a bit of a redundant thing to say to me...because in 2 years time, we will again be saying " in 2 to 3 years we will be at our best".

Reality is we have a very good core now. Need another top 6 forward no doubt to contend for a championship, but hey if one is gettable...I think it's time, go all in in.

Look at Florida's model, Vegas before that

Very few teams have played the steady path of steady drafting and economic free agent plays only to get to a championship, bold additions are required to add to a line up.

Go get a star
👀

Yup...

All I will say is we ARE looking for something big.

I don't know who but Kadri is a name we're interested in for sure.

Bourque would be part of a package.
Kadri would fine if he came with Andersson. But Kadri alone is not something big. I would rather trade for JT miller if Kadri is the aim and no it won’t cost Wyatt. Would cost stankoven to get miller though. Either way aim higher. This team needs bigger guns and Kadri is not it.

Meh, Kadri ain't on the same level as Eichel/Tkachuk. There's plenty of under performing teams, Nill needs to get a dissatisfied gamebreaker off of one of them.

Teams with game breakers don't give them up. Most of the guys on bottom dwelling Eastern teams have NTCs or NMCs or way too much term. Though honestly, Dallas could use some term up front.

I think trading Bichsel would be a waste even though I know he's going to be stuck behind Miro-Harley-Lindell on the depth chart. Moving Bourque is fine, he's not a very good bottom 6 forward and he's not a great top 6 forward.

I think Bichsel is light years ahead of where Oleksiak was at his age.

Quite frankly I think a lot of NHL players have given up the chase for the Cup because they know they're not winning it anywhere other than a hot new market or if their owners are going to pony up to the NHL for a cup.

The show sucks and we should change the channel.

I could get on board with Anderson and Kadri. I think I could get over Bourque and Bischel being the main pieces.

The Flames won't be moving Andersson and Kadri while they're a bubble team unless they need a shakeup or dollars moved. It makes zero sense.

I think you're more likely to see Zucker, Nelson, Palmieri, Nyquist or Dvorak moved.

Maybe they could acquire Bjorkstrand. And I'd really like Tuch but I think that's not going to happen.

Maybe they'll get Jason Dickinson back.

Realistically I think we try for Nelson & then a guy like Olivier for our 4th line and then probably a depth dman. Maybe a couple of bottom 6 guys

If we were actually after Carrier this offseason then we definitely target a guy like Olivier.

I'd love a player like Tuch or Barzal. To me they are the perfect fits...but, aware unlikely to be available even if they are on average teams who could be in a mode to make some player changes.

Think it would be best if a forward added could play right wing well. Even if it's a C/RW. At full strength the team is strong at Left Wing, strong at Centre. Really just lacking a top line right wing to hit big with Hintz and Robertson.

1 month till the 4 nations break, a busy January hopefully Dallas can continue its upward swing in performance to show that its one of the teams who has a chance to win it all..do that and go get a top liner

I can't imagine the Sabres selling off for more picks/prospects anymore. They need guys who can help now. That rebuild has gotta end

I'm sure they'll move a couple guys out but doubt we see anyone big moved out without a current good NHL player coming back in return. Unfortunately we don't have anyone who would be available in that regard

Yeah I don't know if Calgary will be trading anyone while they're a bubble team, but if Dallasman is right saying Bourque or Bischel could be moved then it would have to be for someone with term imo

Otherwise Nill would just move picks and specs for rentals like Nelson etc

Either way, its definitely going to be interesting to see what Nill does
