Cam can want a trade but it takes a contender valuing him at his contract also willing to give up value. It's not going to be easy without retaining money

It’s a shame how Fowler is regarded around here. Guy came in and has always been penciled in higher in the lineup than he should be and has always been a professional and played well. I really wish he got more respect around here from fans.
I think the Fowler criticism can be over the top but i also think there’s sort of been some knee jerk to any semblance of criticism of his play.

I think that’s long been kind of the case with him around here actually. Some voices are very critical and some are very defensive. The right level of critique/praise is probably somewhere in between.

Agreed. As with most things in life, the truth usually is somewhere in the middle.

I’m ok with trading Fowler for an asset but I think it would be stupid to treat him as a dump.

Same with Gibson.
Gibson doesn’t really need to be moved, so we can kinda demand what we want to move him. A gibson trade will likely have us in the same boat with an over priced back up…. But maybe we get a 1st or 2nd back.

Fowler is becoming more of a need to move…. But I wouldn’t call him a cap dump…. The best move for us is something where we can get a forward thats signed next year that can fit in our top 9

And yet, his play on the ice this year could be treated as a dump.
Eh at 6.5 with potential retention or bringing back a contract… I think he should have some what decent value.

A team that has a decent d group and just looking for a puck moving #3 should be in on him

If Pat is serious about taking the next step, he needs to move some of the future assets along with Fowler + for an impact forward. Not a "Top 9 F" thats absurd. You get a legit top 6 F who can score goals. Its what this team desperately needs. If you overpay thats fine. We just need to take a step and its so painfully obvious what this team needs.

Not a lot of options there

This, to me, is the biggest issue. I think Verbeek is willing to overpay. He was willing to sign some of the UFAs to big contracts. I just don't think the type of players the Ducks need are available. Around the trade deadline is where some of these players start to become available. It might be a waiting game but I personally believe Verbeek is looking to take a big swing at someone.

i agree in regards to his professionalism. he's been here since the start of his career and has done his job every night without ever being a distraction or bad mouthing the team

but he's regressed, isn't getting younger, and isn't a fit for this team's future. let him get to 1k games as a duck out of respect and then trade him. he deserves a chance to compete for a cup

It's been discussed here before, but I would really love a Fowler for Pageau swap. NYI is really thin on the left side right now and I feel like Lou would have interest in Fowler. This would probably have to wait until Barzal and/or Duclair come back because Pageau is playing on the top line at the moment. Of course, both Fowler and Pageau have trade protection, so that would have to be worked around. Anaheim would also probably have to either retain a little bit or take another contract back (Wahlstrom or Reilly?) to make the money work.

EDIT: According to Twitter, both Duclair and Barzal are full participants in morning skate today.

I could live with this.

This is not meant as a shot a Fowler, but since Trouba got here, we have too many D. If Fowler is going to go (and it appears all parties agree he needs to go) it needs to be asap. Just removing from from the current roster is a positive at this point. Pat needs to find the best offer and just pull the trigger.
Verbeek blew it here by not having the foresight to do this while Cam still had value.

We can't get caught up in nostalgia - Fowler is garbage for us. He doesn't drive offense like he used to and he's a bit of a liability defensively

His play + him being in the lineup taking chances away from younger players who deserve mins is what is fueling everyone's take on him.
